BEST WESTERN PLUS Lighthouse Suites Inn

I was there for my work and breakfast didn't start until 7 am and I was to be at work at 6:30 and I went down early and there was breakfast items out. That was nice. Quiet night, would have liked a ocean view room and not handicap room but they told me I would have to pay to get up-graded. I'm a Best Western member and the hotel only had 6 cars in the parking lot at 6:30 am, not sure why they could not have given me a room on ocean side that was not handicap...........Other then that it was good.

We stayed two nights earlier this month. In the middle of the second night the ceiling fan broke making a horrible noise and awakening us. There were cigarette butts everywhere, no screen on the exterior door and no air conditioning. Uncomfortable and NO offer of a discount or even an apology for the ceiling fan breaking. Will think twice before staying here again.

The rooms were large and clean. The fireplace in one did not work and we were given a 10% discount. However, it turned out the air did not work, either - very uncomfortable and stuffy. Beds were hard and pillows small. Service at the front desk was good, amenities fine. The restaurant was shockingly overpriced for the quality of food, setting and service. All in all I would say the total experience was OK but not worth the price.

We have stayed here several times. We love the view and often sleep with the sliding glass door open so we can hear the ocean. It has always been clean with a friendly staff. We have stayed as a couple as well as with our son and each experience has been wonderful. The only complaint I have is that it is rather pricey.

Hotel staff was friendly and helpful. Clean room and enjoyable stay overall.

We went to Ocean Shores to storm watch. We specifically paid extra for a second floor ocean view room. When we arrived we were told the room we reserved was not available and we were downgraded. [...] Not a good experience.

Many things to do and the staff was extremely helpful. The only negative was our neighbors (who checked in same day)decided to immediately begin to smoke on the balcony (this is a non-smoking facility) which came directly into our room every time. After we reported this, they denied it was them to the staff, but continued to smoke on balcony the rest of our/their stay. The staff did say they are unable to monitor that side (facing ocean)of hotel. At checkout, again we complained and we were told the manager would be notified and they would see if they could do something for us. However, we purchased the room on-line at a discount so I am not sure anything will happen. Also, the room was very clean except for the back of the bathroom door (very bad) and we did mention this as well. Otherwise, we would highly recomend.

Great getaway weather was fantastic and lots of little shops to explore.... Ocean shores is great for geocaching! Hotel was great, alittle noisey w/ the restuarant above you. Rooms for pets were great and very clean!

Family from midwest visiting. They love the ocean, so this was a perfect location. Breakfast included, which was wonderful,since we were feeding 2 teenagers.

This 4 floor hotel is the closest to the beach in Ocean Shores. There are many other hotels with good views and outside balconies but they are a bit farther from the beach. All hotels in Ocean Shores are separated from the beach by sand dunes. At this hotel the "Ocean-View" rooms face the beach, the "Partial Ocean-View" rooms are perpendicular to the beach looking over the dunes with a side view of the ocean. All rooms above the first floor have an outside balcony as far as I could tell, first floor rooms have patios. This is a 3.5 star hotel in a 5-star location. It's nice but not fancy, it's casual. Same for the onsite restaurant, which has moderate priced meals, most under $20. The room rates are due to the location and views, not because they are anything special, again nice but not fancy. The best views are above the 1st floor. We stayed in a 4th floor partial view room in April 2010 and loved it. We could see the ocean fine and were serenaded by frogs and crickets at night from the pond areas in the dunes. Romantic!
