Was in town for one night business meeting. This was a great location, convenient to everything I needed. The room was comfortable and a good value for the price. The hotel itself looks a little old but that didn't really bother me.
One really nice perk is a free shuttle to the airport. The person that drove me was really nice and friendly. Greatly appreciated!

[...] Executive Governor level King could be with jacuzzi or whirlpool according to hotel website. But room I got only had standing shower (which was nice though). So they moved me when I told them I was supposed to be in either whirlpool or jacuzzi room for the second night.

Location is incredible. Steps away from State Street, The Union, beverages on the Terrace, and just a few blocks away from the Capitol. Great energy. A little noisy on a Thurs night, but expected due to being on fraternity row. The room was clean and spacious. Bed and pillows were comfortable. Free appetizers at night and free breakfast in the morning add value.

We thoroughly enjoyed our Saturday night at The Edgewater. Our suite was huge and had a fantastic view of the lake. We were easy walking distance to State Street and the capital where there were great restaurants. The sole drawback was that our room was right next to a frat that had the bass blasting until 2 AM. Luckily, we were out late that evening so it didn't really keep us up but if I was looking for a relaxing evening in the hotel I probably would have been upset by all that noise.

Stayed many times for business but this was the first family trip here. Sofa bed a great plus with me and my two teenage boys. Free wi fi! Free breakfast. Cozy pool. Three blocks from State Capitol and Monona Terrace. Able to cruise State Street and a pleasant walk to explore the campus.

I highly recommend this hotel. The room was very spacious. The TV was a large flat screen. The bathroom has a walk in shower instead of the typical bathtub/shower and was also very spacious.

The hotel did a great job shuttleing me back andforth to the airport and confrence. Very clean roo and helpful staff. Only downfall was the location. Not close to food or entertainment within walking distances. There were a lot of food joints that deliever here though. Overall very satisfied!

Our only complaint was about the snacks and medicine/candy (not sure which) our son found hidden in corners of the room. Medicine mistaken as candy by a young child is an alarming concern for any parent. We were assured that this would be addressed.

We visited Madison due to the military. We wanted a romantic room but something nice. The room we had was a large suite with a jacuzzi tub. It also had a microwave and fridge. The hotel had an indoor pool and jacuzzi. Breakfast was included, it was okay but the hot items where the same everyday.

WORST, TERRIBLE EXPERIENCE: almost ruined our weekend
We had to check in later at 9:30 pm, because we were coming from upstate Wisconsin fr a rafting trip. We called to let hotel know and they told us we could check in with bartender in the hotel pub.That should have been the first warning sign.
We arrive tired and hungry, checked in at the bar (?!?), took our bags up to a room, which WASN'T what we had reserved (we made reservation for a jacuzzi suite because we knew we would be sore after our rafting). We went back down to the pub and told the bartender/front deskman.He was very nice, apologetic and tried to be helpful. He called the manager who was at home, who didnt want to get on the phone to speak with me, nor come to hotel to correct the mess they had left. The bartender then tried to put us in a empty suite( which was probably the room we had reserved), but none of his keys worked (so NOW we have a bartender who is in charge, without a master key, without a manager/ owner who actually cares about this situation). I left my number with the bartender for the manager to call, which they never did and we had to find a hotel somewhere else before all the restaurants closed, too.
This experience was like no other I had ever had ( coming from someone who travels ALOT.
This should be a warning to any future travelers: There are so many other great places to stay in Madison with much more charm and character, for the same price. And they are managed by people who care... (or should I say)who actually know something about customer service.

Hotel Ruby Marie opened it's doors in the late 1800's and is steeped in history. It is not quite a hotel and not quite a bed and breakfast, but a unique blend of the two. The room was large and decorated in victorian style, but the large hot tub right in the bedroom did detract from the the feeling. The king-sized bed had a wonderful matress. The best I have ever found in a hotel. Breakfast is served down in the bakery on the ground level and the smell of fresh made pastries and breads is almost intoxicating. The hotel is located in a very historical section of Madison, combining railroad history and German Immigrants. Had a delicious meal right next door at a German Restaurant that is owned by the hotel.

I took my nephew to tour the University of Wisconsin-Madison campus. We stayed at this hotel, which is just a few steps from State St. & many restaurants, shops, & bars. It's about seven blocks from the Capitol, & even closer to the UW campus.
The Inn seems to be undergoing an update. There was the scent of fresh paint in the hall (but not in our room), & everything in the room but the TV & ceiling tiles seemed to be new. The greeting at the front desk was friendly, the beds comfortable, & there were plenty of towels.
There was coffee, hot water, & tea bags in the lobby. We were offered parking but didn't need it so I can't comment on it.
There were only two things I can say against our stay. The shower head was situated quite low; I'm only 5'6" & had to duck to get under it. A bigger worry was that there was no extra safety lock on the door, only a small turn-knob, which seemed flimsy.

We stayed here over the Thanksgiving holiday this year while visiting family and were very impressed with the property overall. The best part of our 3 night stay was the fact that the pool, hot tub and exercise facility were accessible 24 hours a day.
The lobby was very nice with coffee available and a large flat panel TV. The staff was friendly and the beds were very comfortable. Shopping and restaurants are nearby.
The rooms were inexpensive but our overall impression from our stay says we'll be staying here again. It's a great value for your dollar.

Not many amenities in this hotel other than a sleeping facility. However, the room was relatively clean, so at least it had that going for it. I've stayed at other Motel 6's and they were much nicer!

the rooms are okay for the price it smelled old in the hallways and older in the rooms. After driving 4 hours through construction all i wanted was to shower and rest, however when i got to the hotel at 9:15 pm there was a sign on the door that said "back in 15 mins", and a guest thay said he had already been standing there for 3o mins...i waited and waited...by the time the Front desk girl came back it was 10 pm and there were at least 10 people waiting for assistance. I guess this is what you get when u pay $50 for a room. Disappointment

My and my children enjoyed our stay at the hotel. We like the free breakfast, but hated the fact the two queen beds did not have a fridge to keep our sodas cold. Therefore we took a clean trash can, and a plastic bag, and fill the bucket up with ice. That was a hassle to, because every time the ice melt, we had to go fill it up. I also did not like the fact that I could not smoke in the room, I had to keep going outside. Other than that the staff were helpful, and the spa and the pool were fun. It was not crowed in the pool, and fact me and my famaily were the only ones in the pool.

This was one of the cleanest Days Inn i've ever been in. Right off the hwy and has everything and anything right around you. Would stay here again in a heart beat!

The hotel was nicely equipped with a pool and exercise room. The room was clean and the beds were comfortable. The hotel was within 10 minutes of shopping, decent restaurants, etc. They had a nice complimentary continental breakfast that was well equipped.

My family and i had a lot of bags and our room was on second floor with no close access to an elevator, so getting all our bags up to the room was bad. Then come to find out couldn't even get in the room once where at our hotel room door because the safety latch was on the door after two hrs. finally get in then everything started going like it was supposed to..so when check-out came we turned the keys in at the front desk and the receptionist awarded me a free night stay so that made it all worth while..

The computer with internet access in lobby was appreciated. The pool facility looked nice and had I taken my swimsuit I certainly would have given it some use. The Location was good for my needs with added bonus of a grocery store with late hours next door and metro bus stop within a block. The room was about what you'd expect and the whole place was a little run down, but my expectations weren't exceptionally high so I was satisfied with the experience.

the Hotel was in a great location, and very well kept. I checked in at 630pm and the frontdesk was no where to be found after waiting 10min he appeared! He didnt understand [...] my CC was already billed so he asked me for another form of payment and I paid casdh as I knew I would need to speak with someone to get this money back..in the am [...] at the front desk took care of the refund no prob! so great experience otherwise, room was clean and comfortable!

Common areas were dingy and had a lingering cigarette odor. Some recent updates to the dining area helped.
Rooms were really clean and generally comfy. Recent updates to bathroms were nice. I didn't think the rooms were as small as others thought, but it would probably be pretty cozy with two beds.
Pretty loud place - some people are living in the hotel, so there were a few doors propped open and some pretty loud arguing between mom and kids in the morning.
Overall, a good value and easily accessible to the freeway, even if there's not much other than chain restaurants within walking distance. The management is clearly trying and making progress.

Room was very basic. Bathroom was really small, but served it's purpose. Pretty basic stuff. Wireless worked well.

The building is dated, but the room is up to date with very nice linens, excellent bed, updated bath and working AC/Heat. Breakfast in the morning is a complete breakfast, with eggs, bacon/sausage, potatoes, waffles, juice, toast and cereals. Coffee is on 24 hours a day. We were all impressed.

The staff was very nice and friendly. The room was a nice size. The bushes outside the window for privacy was nice. The complimentary breakfast was pretty good. The bathroom floor was in need of a good cleaning and the walls were paper thin.

Experience was fine. Nothing special, nothing wrong. The bar was nice. Waterpark is more for kids than adults.
