We booked this condo for 2 nights through Expedia, located in Oyhut Bay Seaside Resort, and managed by Golderner. We drove 2.5 hours to get there. Upon entering, we found a terrible smell, black mold, and dirty, stained carpet in the room. We took photos and called the management company. The representative was rude and only offered to send a cleaner. I explained black mold canât just be cleaned away, but the cleaner came, agreed it was mold, and left without doing anything.
Later, the management company claimed it was âdust.â If that were true, why wasnât it cleaned before our arrival? Dust doesnât cause that smell or appear on ceilings. We requested a full refund, which was denied. Expedia got involved, but the management company refused, hiding behind their cancellation policy.
Expediaâs supervisor offered a $300 refund, which I declinedâitâs unacceptable when we couldnât stay in a mold-infested unit with our 2-year-old. We were told someone would follow up but never heard back.
When we called to confirm we left the keys, a woman named Julie hung up on usâcompletely unprofessional.
We will report this to the health inspector and pursue legal action. Terrible experience from start to finish. Do NOT book here!
