Welcome to Blacksmith Cottage. This truly unique abode is the perfect choice if you are looking to book a stay that has the world at your fingertips. Located on Old Coach Road in sunny Aldinga, it conveniently creates a country-feel stay a mere five minute drive from the beach. Aldinga’s many small business shops, cafes, restaurants are in abundance - some even located right next door! (Did we mention the cute gelati shop yet?!) Interested in another convenient neighbour? Mclaren Vale’s famous wine region creating yet another not-to-be missed experience.

Steeped in history, The Blacksmith Hub (the site which we call home) is located in the heart of the rejuvenated Aldinga Township. Established in 1859 as Pengilly’s Blacksmith Shop it now presents as the Goodness Coffee Company (Coffee Roastery and Espresso Bar), The Little Rickshaw (Vietnamese dining), Spoilt Rotten Hair (Beauty Salon), Willunga Gelato (in summer) and of course our beloved Blacksmith Cottage. The precinct is popular for both locals and tourists alike providing a chic, eclectic and peaceful atmosphere with many sitting spaces to relax with friends or find a quiet spot for yourself to read a book or work on your laptop.

On weekends Blacksmith Hub is quite busy and plays host to a variety of live music acts until late at night. This is hosted just outside our home so please be mindful of this when booking on the weekends!

Upon arrival at Blacksmith Cottage you’ll immediately feel as though you`re at home and ready to put your feet up. Ornate fireplaces, original stonewalls, raw timbers, polished concrete, slate floors and exposed brick creates a home that will spark the curiosity in all as you make your way through just waiting to see what secrets each room holds. Entry into our home is via lock box for ease of access 24/7.

The living room is perfect for relaxing in the lounge, wasting the day away with a delicious La Crema coffee in hand and a ‘can’t put it down’ book by the window. Or pass the day idly by just ‘switching off’ in front of the television - that is of course- if you choose stay home to enjoy it with all the location has to offer!

The kitchen is equipped with everything you could need for a comfortable stay including a new double oven, induction cooktop, fridge, dishwasher and plenty of wine glasses! Take a seat at our 4 seater dining table and sip away on a glass from nearby McLaren Vale whilst you literally drink in the antique chandelier and original slate floors.

Our king and queen bedroom suites boast sophisticated decor, side tables, luxury high loft quilts and pillows, and super soft vintage wash linen. There is hanging and shelf space for your convenience. Drift away in utter indulgence amongst super soft pillows and cushions.

The large bathroom has a shower, toilet, and our absolute favourite- the bathtub to soak a hard day`s adventuring around the region right off. Enjoy the provisions of hair and body care amenities on us. **Please read note below `GUEST ACCESS`.

There is a washing machine and car parking available at the property for your convenience.

GUEST ACCESS
Guests will have private access to the entire two bedroom cottage during their stay. The local roastery uses the walkway between our main cottage and bathroom to access their store room. The bathroom is lockable and there are privacy blinds. Please pull the privacy blinds down on your arrival and the roastery staff will access their store room via an alternative entrance. When you leave, if you could lift them up that would be amazing! Car parking is available on site.

OTHER THINGS TO NOTE
Please note that all Special Requests are subject to availability and additional charges may apply.

No parties or events

Please treat the our home as if it were your own. Kindly leave the property in a tidy condition upon departure. Unexpected additional cleaning cost will be forwarded to you.

$200AUD cleaning/deodorising fee charged if guest is found to have been smoking in the property.

CHECK OUT: Check out strictly at 10AM. Additional charges will be incurred for our cleaners time if not vacant upon their arrival. We charge $30AUD for the first 30 minutes, and $60AUD for every 30-minutes after this.

LOST KEYS/LOCKOUTS: Please keep the property key with you all the time during your stay. Lost key/emergency key delivery charges will be $180AUD plus key replacement fee or cost of a locksmith.

LOST PROPERTY: For any items left behind - the host will hold the item for a maximum of 30 days from check-out date after which time they will be considered abandoned and disposed of or donated. During the 30 day collection period, collection can be arranged by way of the guest providing a prepaid postage bag to a supplied address or the item can be collected in person at an agreed time and location.
