Situated in an idyllic location 1,200 feet above sea level, on a working farm, this log cabin has been beautifully constructed to be a relaxing retreat for families and groups in search of adventure. There are plenty of awe-inspiring walks available right from the doorstep of the property through unspoilt countryside known as ‘England’s last wilderness’ where the wildlife is abundant. Further afield, the whole of the North Pennines Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty offers a wealth of beauty with tumbling waterfalls, ancient hay meadows and Gold Tier dark skies to gaze at the constellations, all making for a fantastic week away. Alston (1 mile) is the highest market town in England and boasts a great selection of independent shops and cafes where guests can stock up on food and trinkets from their travels.
This environmentally conscious property is topped with grass, allowing it to blend into its natural environment and adding an excellent layer of insulation in addition to the underfloor heating, which ensures an enjoyable stay all year round. Inside, the open-plan living space has been thoughtfully decorated, with a farmhouse-style table, large leather sofas and a wood burner for cosy winter evenings. On summer days, the bi-fold doors bring the outside in with spectacular views stretching for miles. The kitchen is equipped with all that is needed to cook up a feast for a large group come breakfast lunch or dinner. There is a utility room with storage as well as a washer/dryer for convenience. The entire property enjoys the charming log walls which create a warm and welcoming space, especially in the four bedrooms; three with super-king-size beds which can be made up as twins on request and one double. Two bathrooms serve the property, one with a shower and the other with a bath.
The area surrounding the property really has the wow factor, with a wooden deck featuring sun loungers, garden furniture, a firepit and a luxurious hot tub; a perfect place to watch the stars on a clear night.
