Welcome to our freshly redecorated cozy lake cottage in Alton Bay, New Hampshire, a charming 725 sq ft retreat tucked right across from Lake Winnipesaukee, perfect for couples or small families craving a peaceful New England escape with easy access to adventure.

The space
We've just completed a full refresh, so everything feels warm, inviting, and extra cozy from the moment you arrive. This intimate 2-bedroom, 1-bath cottage sleeps up to 4 comfortably: a king bed in the main bedroom and a trundle w/ two twins that can convert to a king in the second. The full kitchen is stocked with pots, pans, utensils, a coffee maker, and more so you can whip up meals at home. Curl up by the electric fireplace on chilly nights, or soak in natural light and stunning lake views from the bright sunroom. Step outside to your private yard with a firepit and seating for evening s'mores after a day of skiing and enjoy the convenience of in-unit washer and dryer for longer stays.

Location
Perched just across from Lake Winnipesaukee, you're less than a mile from public swimming, kayaking launches, the only public boat launch on the entire lake, restaurants, and downtown Alton Bay's charm. Hit the trails for hiking (Mt. Major is minutes away) or snowmobiling right from the property on the nearby lake access trail (open December 1–March 31). You're only 10 minutes from Gunstock Mountain for skiing and fun, and a quick 12-minute drive to picturesque downtown Wolfeboro—known as the "oldest summer resort in America"—with shops, dining, and lakefront vibes. The road (Mt. Major Hwy) can be a bit active in warmer months, but the unbeatable location makes exploring the Lakes Region effortless.

Bonus perk: Right across the street is the iconic Alton Bay Seaplane Base—the only FAA-approved ice runway in the contiguous U.S.! Watch seaplanes splash down in summer or planes land on the frozen lake in winter (when conditions allow).

The driveway is steep and a has a bit of a dip in it. Please be very careful when pulling in or out. Smaller vehicles need to be cautious.
