THIS SPECIAL apartment is one of four beautiful apartments inside an historic palazzo located within a 15 minute walk into the heart of the village of Amalfi.

This apartment has several unique features. It has a lovely private garden for its exclusive use, furnished so comfortably it's like an outdoor living room. It also has a long SEA front balcony, providing an exceptional panoramic view from almost every room. Each room in the apartment is very spacious and has 20' ceilings.

The decor is a thoughtful mixture of the owner's authentic antiques and family heirlooms with contemporary pieces carefully selected to complement each other and the historic atmosphere beautifully.

The entirety of this exceptional palazzo has been lovingly renovated to a high modern standard yet retains the wonderful characteristics of the historic Liberty architectural style of the late 1800's on the Amalfi Coast.

LOCATION:
The location could not be better. It is a 5 minute walk to several of the area's nicest beaches, and a 15 minute walk into the center of Amalfi Village - where every kind of shop, restaurant, and service is available to you.

The Amalfi dock is just steps away, where you can get the public boats to anywhere in the region, including Positano and Capri.

If you choose not to rent a car you will be in perfect shape in this location. The local buses leave from the Amalfi Marina and can take you anywhere you'd like to go; including Positano, Ravello, Salerno, and also to Naples.

If you enjoy walking and hiking, this property is central to many of the great trails and paths that crisscross the Coast.

LAYOUT:
The apartment is comprised of 2 bedrooms; one with matrimonial bed and one with twin beds that can also be wrapped together and made into one large one. There is a gracious and beautifully decorated living room with fireplace, and a combination kitchen-dining room.

The living room and both bedrooms open onto the balcony.
The master bedroom and the kitchen also open onto the private garden where there is a lovely ensemble of outdoor furnishings and a distinctive banquette with oval-shaped marble table.

There are 2 baths - one with tub & handshower, one with shower stall.

The name of the apartment is "Casa degli Iris Blu", taking its name from the famous Van Gogh painting, Blue Iris, which is properly displayed in the living room.

GUEST REVIEW of Casa degli Iris Blu...

"Sitting on the balcony of Iris Blu, overlooking the Amalfi coastline is like a front row seat in paradise. Iris Blu is a beautifully appointed apartment, which provides 4 spacious and airy rooms with incredibly high ceilings, as well as two full baths. Enormous shuttered windows & doors open to a balcony that runs across the entire length the parlor and the two adjoining bedrooms.

Overlooking the Bay of Salerno and the village of Amalfi, from sunrise through darkness, the view is breathtaking. Additional windows/doors lead to a side garden, where one can sip Limoncello at the marble table or enjoy the comfort of lawn furniture, still taking in the shoreline vistas.

When ready to venture out, the town center is a pleasant downhill walk of approximately 3/4 of a mile, where opportunities to swim, sun bathe, shop or dine abound.

While there are numerous additional destinations that can be easily reached by bus or boat from Amalfi, we often were drawn back to Casa deli Iris Blu, with bags heavy with mozzarella di buffalo, tomatoes, prosciutto, and crusty bread, which always seemed to taste better when shared on the balcony.

This was our second stay at the Villa delle Delizie. (Last time we stayed in one of the other apartments). While we could not have asked for more, this trip was even more special as our daughter's "surprise wedding" unfolded in the garden - an absolutely perfect setting for this joyful event!!

Hopefully we'll be returning often and soon to our home away from home!!
