Amazing Log Cabin with Beautiful Views at Apple Canyon Lake

Enjoy our cabin "Fox Ridge Getaway" with your family or friends. Beautiful wood cabin with open loft, immediately feel relaxed in the Amazing Great Room. This cabin really makes you feel miles away with its gorgeous views of the countryside. Lower level has a bar. Nice back deck for grilling and visiting. Sit around the campfire at night, located in the back yard. Trail close to property for walking/hiking. You will have access to lake amenities, pool and beach, with tags provided. Upstairs loft has a shower. Lower bath has a tub.

We try to supply some firewood for our guests as a perk, but it is not guaranteed. T.V. is dish network. Internet is Fiber-link (250 Mbps), usually very good, but in the rolling hills of Apple River Canyon, at times it is not, so make appropriate plans if this is a must.

The charming town of Galena only 15 miles away. Small towns in Northern Illinois and Southern Wisconsin within a 20 minute drive. Wisconsin is only 10 miles to the north.

Apple Canyon State Park, 10 miles away. Very nice scenic views. Multiple hiking paths. Worth your visit if you like the outdoors.

Don't feel like cooking every meal. One of our favorites, Old School Saloon, Scales Mound IL, 6 miles away. Excellent pizza and sandwiches. They have a 4.8 star rating for a reason. Need delivery, Thriving Thistle Market in Apple River delivers. Their sandwiches are excellent. Pizza is good. You can dine in as well.

Wonderful little town of Shullsburg, Wisconsin. (established in 1827, one of the oldest in Wisconsin) only 13 miles to the north. The restaurants in this small town are second to none. You won't be disappointed. We love visiting this small town.

We have other hidden gems that we recommend and share with our guests upon check in, including "Gravity Hill", 12 miles to the north in Wisconsin, you will be laughing as you roll backwards, uphill???

No Smoking, No parties, No bachelor or bachelorette parties. NO PETS. Maximum guests 8. Minimum age of primary renter is 25.

We cannot lock in dates until deposit is received. Same date requests will be given to the first person securing it with a deposit. Three night stays are required during holiday weekends.

Check in is 4:00 p.m.. Check out is 11:00 a.m.

While we made the most out of our stay, the cleanliness was not great. There were lots of dust/webs on the ceiling corners and ceiling fans, lots of dead flies on the windowsill, and even found an entire area near the dining table with dead bugs. We did not feel comfortable walking barefoot. While it is a very beautiful cabin, the basement room, which I’m assuming is the master bedroom, was extremely hot even while having the fan on. We could not sleep there and had to resort to sleeping in the living room. Would suggest to invest in an AC for that room as it was unbearable.

The cabin was great, super cute and accomodating. There were quite a few broken things, such as the back door and closet doors. There was also a crazy dead fly issue. flies covering the floor in the main area. Overall, we had a great stay, and were not dampered by any of the issues.

Great time with friends! The cabin was beautiful and it was in a nice, quiet location. The only downside was there was 7 women and only one shower. The biggest bathroom on the main level only had a tub so wasn't really useful for us. The bathroom upstairs in the loft was small, but the one with a shower so we all used it. Would recommend getting a small stand of some sort for people to put clothes, make-up bags, etc. as there wasn't a spot to set anything of any size. Nice deck, big lawn and a firepit. Great living room with lots of comfortable seating for us all to gather.

Nice cabin. Unfortunately Dish TV was out due to storms prior to our arrival but owners made contact & within a few days was fixed. No ice maker in fridge. Plenty of space for our family of 6. ACL amenities was appreciated! Visited Chestnut Mountain Resort (20 miles) & walked Main St in Galena, IL. Ate at Old School Saloon (Scales Mound, IL) - 10 min Very good food!!

First Family Vacation

This trip was everything our family expected during our trip to Apple Canyon, let alone our first family vacation with our children. As lot owners we knew what Apple Canyon had to offer as far as amenities. With that said the property owners were very responsive when I had any questions/concerns about our stay. Furthermore any minor issue we did have the property owner came out same day to help fix and take care of the concern. We will definitely return to this property for future Apple Canyon visits!
