I arrived after dark, so I parked on the street instead of in the carport in the alley behind the house. In the morning I noticed that the corrugated metal door to the carport out back was wide open, which made me feel less than safe. Later that day, I parked back there, but realized the garage door won’t stay latched even when I locked it from inside. Also the code to the back door was not the same as the code to the front door so it made more sense to park on the street for the remainder of my visit. Which was in January when it was pretty chilly. Yet there was only one throw blanket in the whole place and no extra blankets for the bed. I texted that to the host and their reply was that they would make a note of it. Not my idea of great hospitality. But the place is otherwise fairly well appointed, and probably a better experience in more temperate weather when you can enjoy the patio and porch more. Location is in mid-gentrification, close to good restaurants etc. Great breakfast tacos at Vecino’s, coffee at Zed’s, had dinner at Sour Duck, drinks at The Wheel and at Mama Dearest. Although I didn’t end up going, my son who lives in Austin said that the East Austin Comedy club (a few doors down from Mama Dearest) has consistently good shows at 6, 8 and 10pm.

Cute and close to downtown and UT

The place was cute. Kitchen was fully stocked with spices, etc. cleanliness was reasonable, but not immaculate. The master shower appeared clean but smelled like mildew. Before I checked in, the manager let me know that a plumber would be coming that night to fix the downstairs toilet. In our 3 day stay, he never showed. These things happen, I don't blame the property, but, we had to go upstairs to use the bathroom. The front door lock is horrible. The 7 digit code is difficult to put in before timing out. Every time we entered the property, we ended up going to the back door, which seemed a little more forgiving.That said, the manager I spoke with was awesome! He was very understanding of the door situation and helped me get in more than once. If it weren't for him, I probably would have given a bad review, but he made the stay easy. Beds were very comfortable. The shower head in the master was wonderful! There is a nice reading nook on the stairs with a wide variety of books if you have the time all of the TV's are logged into different apps, so there is plenty to watch. It was a 1.5 mile drive to the bass theatre and the UT stadium. I would recommend this property. The manager is very available, which makes a huge difference.

Excellent property and location

We had a great stay at this house while moving my daughter to Austin. It's an ideal location with close proximity to downtown/UT, all the cool restaurants in East Austin, and the touristy area of south Congress. The house is impeccably beautiful and nicely appointed, comfortable, and welcoming. I would stay here again any time. It's worth noting that this seems to be a corporate VRBO that is operated by Vacasa. We did not communicate directly with an identifiable individual or property owner. But it was fine since we did not have any problems.

Great place to stain in a great location

We were in town for a wedding and east Austin was the perfect area with lots to do and easy access to get around the city. Ubers were cheap and about 7 min to get to downtown. The rental was great. Plenty of room for us, a great common area with an open floor plan, gated free parking in the back, and in a nice quiet area. I would definitely recommend for anyone who wants to be in a safe, quiet spot in Austin while not giving up the convenience of the nightlife and action of the city!

E Austin townhouse

Overall, the property was great. It was a very good location & everything was very clean. I’ve stayed in a lot of properties, but I have to say the kitchen in this one was stocked better than any. I’ve ever stayed at before. There was an issue at check-in because the batteries in the lock system were down, but the property manager help me out over the phone direct me to the key box and I got in that way. Then send a repair man out on the second day. I was there to replace the locking mechanism.

Perfect Jumping Off Point

Stayed here for a race weekend at Circuit of the Americas (COTA) and the property was the perfect base camp for us. While street parking out front was most convenient, the ability to park inside the gate at the rear was a nice bonus for loading/unloading during our trip. Conveniently located near coffee shops and food stops for the morning and equally close to jumping on the highway to reach the airport or COTA. Home was nicely furnished with everything you might need during a stay. Full size washer/dryer was great for washing up after days of hot sun and sunscreen. All in all a great stay for us (2 couples) and made an excellent base camp for a long holiday weekend.

The property was very cute and the online description was accurate; however, there were some cleanliness issues and access issue (i.e., the lock didn't work, inconsistent communication with property management about securing the property, etc.).
