New in our program, this home has many great reviews from past guests.

NEW for the 2025 season, all carpeting has been replaced with new LVP throughout, and the second-level deck boards and railings have all been renewed.

Offering 3,400 square feet and an oceanfront location, Off Duty is a place to relax and unwind. Located on a quiet cul-de-sac, Off Duty is just a few steps from the water's edge. The ground level has good parking, a carport, covered entry, and access to the oceanfront pool with decking and furniture. The first-level game room has a pool table, a leather-furnished media corner with a TV, stereo, wet bar, full fridge, laundry nook, half bath, and deck access to the private hot tub and pool. On the second level, out of two oceanfront bedrooms, one is a main bedroom with a TV, deck access, and bath with tub/shower.

The furnished den has oceanfront deck access, TV, and WiFi. Bedroom two has two singles, a TV, and is close to a full hall bath with a tub/shower combo. Bedroom three is an oceanfront main bed with deck access, a TV, and a bathroom with a shower. Bedroom four has a double, bunk beds, and a TV. The huge upstairs great room is a classic with tall ceilings, a gas fireplace, an extra-large TV, a stereo, and a half bath.

Resort furnishings make for comfy living. The spacious deck includes deck furniture, a picnic table, and beautiful ocean views. The large kitchen has an island, stainless appliances, and ample dining with views of the ocean and Avon pier. The main bedroom five has deck access, a TV, and a full bath with a tub/shower combo. This is the place to book your next vacation and enjoy the spot that makes Off Duty so desirable and unique.

Things to Know
All new appliances for 2024 include a Washer, Dryer, Dishwasher, and range.
Charcoal Grill
The new and expanded pool deck area allows for more room for sunbathing at the pool!
Streaming services are available with guests' own accounts.
Guests will be required to sign an additional lease agreement upon making a booking which will be sent to your email. You will not be able to check in until we have received your signature electronically. Please contact us directly if you do not receive this agreement.
Guests have access to the Club Hatteras Pool Facility. Additional details about this facility will be shared in your check-in email and during the check-in process. The club is typically open from mid-May to mid-October, depending on the weather.
The fireplace is available from October to April.

The private pool is open seasonally from 4/26/2026 and closes 10/12/2026. Dates are subject to change.

Nice house with some very good amenities.

We really loved having a house with such proximity to the beach as well as a pool and a hot tub. The house is well equipped with most of the needs for a family on vacation. We really enjoyed, in our downtime, to have TVs in the living areas and in the bedrooms so that everyone could enjoy their own programs. We hope to visit this house again soon.

Fun Family Vacation

Off Duty fit the bill for a week’s vacation with our children and grandchildren. The great location made this a perfect spot for watching fireworks off the pier. The house was comfortable and the pool was a super benefit.

Wonderful vacation home away from home! You can’t beat the view and waking up each morning to a beautiful sunrise on the Oceanfront! It was also close to stores and places to go out to as well. The kitchen was well stocked and was the perfect space for a family Vacation! Can’t wait to someday enjoy another stay here!

Been staying here for years

Off Duty is a great home for our fishing group. We bring 6-8 guys every year, and it is perfect location for everything. Improvements were made since our last stay in 2023, thanks for listening! Can’t wait to stay again in 2025!

Spectacular view and value

The house was incredible - great location just steps from the beach. Tastefully decorated and the pool and hot tub are great. Multiple levels for spreading out - only critique would be the coffee maker - it could be nicer.

Wonderful vacation

We had everything we needed at this property- you couldn't beat the views and the hot tub and pool made this location top notch. We would recommend this house to anyone! Only things that could use a little improvement were the mattresses and the furniture, but those things were not a big deal with all the other positives this home offers.

Off Duty Great Place to Stay

We totally enjoyed our stay at “Off Duty”. This property provided everything a large family could hope for on vacation. It also has a hint of rustic charm but superior accommodations. The pool area is superb with considerable privacy. The views from the upper decks are breathtaking. This vacation home is a catalyst for creating wonderful family memories that will last a lifetime!

Wonderful Vacation

We had a wonderful time here!!! The house was well maintained and very clean at arrival!!!! The cleaning ladies were so nice and let us swim about back as we waited for them to finish! Thank had two families and had more than enough room!!! The hot tub and pool were amazing and well maintained !!!!! The view is one in a million.

Lovely ocean views, great house

We loved our stay at Off Duty! Beautiful views from every window, and the upper deck was where we spent every morning to watch the sun come up over the ocean. The pool was a huge hit, especially for the kids! Since the ocean in OBX is pretty rough, the pool was a nice way to stay cool and hang by the house when the kids were too tired to walk to beach. The house was very clean and spacious. Would definitely stay here again!

First Vacation Since Pre-Covid

Everyone loved the hot tub, pool, and easy, quick access to the beach for fishing and castle building! The kitchen was fully equipped but a Keurig coffee maker would have been an extra bonus :-). We appreciated having the linens provided. We will certainly put this house at the top of our list when we consider next year's vacation to the Outer Banks!

Great location and views

Second time staying here and it was better than thef first time. Nice wide open floor plan with excellent views. New washer and dryer( last stay they didn’t work).. didn’t have much as far as pots ( wanted to make chili) stopped in at the office and they reimbursed us for the chili pot we had bought) great customer service.. There was some type or rodent running around in the walls ( could hear scratching ) but think that’s the case with most houses.. hot tub latch cover was broken but not a huge deal
 all in all this place is great and will definitely stay here again.

Beach time

Location was awesome views from the deck and inside the house looking out to the beach and ocean were amazing. Even with hurricane Debbie, it was still awesome to sit inside and see the ocean turning. Everything we needed was equipped in the house plenty of room very comfortable. It was our first time back since losing a family member in 2016 and we couldn’t have asked for a better time. Pool and hot tub were used a lot. We had so much fun will be back next year.

Great layout in this home. Loved the access to a bathroom and refrigerator for cold drinks on the first floor just off the pool deck! Nice new smarts tvs and comfortable furniture in this house. Kitchen was well equipped. Beautiful ocean views from the living room, dining room and kitchen. Plenty of outdoor furniture plus beach chairs and pool tools. Would definitely stay here again!

Great Stay!

A really nice home to vacation at. All beds & furniture very comfortable. Only drawback is No info on how to use the various TV’s is the house. After 24 hrs. someone at Vacasa was finally able to help. For future use, I personally left the instructions on how to use main TV. Instructions would have been really helpful, otherwise a great stay. All the cookware & utensils were of good quality. Back next year!

Has been a great house in the past

Have stayed in this house multiple times over the past 10 years, but it makes me sad to see the conditions getting worse. Owners really need to spend money on updating appliances and fixing the floor in the game room. You can hear the dryer running from the basement all the way on the third floor.
