Welcome to Amongst the Clouds at Chappell Farms â your elevated escape above Banner Elk!
Perched in a secure, gated community just 10 minutes from downtown Banner Elk and 5 minutes from Banner Elk Winery, this stunning mountain retreat offers awe-inspiring sunrises and long-range views that stretch into Tennessee and Virginia. It's also a short drive to both Sugar Mountain Ski Resort and Beech Mountain Ski, making it an ideal year-round destination for outdoor adventure. The paved driveway includes both upper and lower parking, providing easy access to all levels of the home.
Enter the main level from the upper drive and step into the open-concept great room, where a gas fireplace, large-screen TV, and panoramic mountain views create a warm and inviting space. The dining area seats eight comfortably, with additional bar seating for three at the large island. The kitchen boasts luxurious Brazilian granite countertops and is exceptionally well-stocked for all your culinary needs. A convenient half bath is located just off the living room for guests.
The primary king suite is located at the north end of the main level, featuring its own private deck, a walk-in closet, ceiling fan, and TV. The ensuite bathroom includes a double granite vanity, tiled shower with bench seating, and a separate water closet. A full laundry room with sink is conveniently located near the mudroom entrance.
Upstairs, a cozy loft with a daybed provides bonus space for reading or relaxing. To one side, a versatile game room features a pool table that converts to ping pong or extra dining space for game night. On the opposite side are two spacious king ensuites, each with ceiling fans, tiled showers, and granite vanities.
The lower level offers a second living area complete with a gas fireplace, foosball table, seating area, and a kitchenette for added convenience. A fourth king ensuite is located on this level, along with a twin-over-twin bunk bed and twin trundle â ideal for families or larger groups. The ensuite bath includes a walk-in tub, tiled shower, double vanity, and a water closet.

Step outside to enjoy the best of mountain living. The main-level deck features a covered dining area with a high-top table and gas grill. Downstairs, the covered lower deck houses the hot tub and a peaceful glider bench, with level walking access to the lower drive. Stone steps lead to the fire pit â the perfect spot for stargazing, storytelling, and perhaps even catching a glimpse of the Northern Lights during the solar maximum from fall through spring.

- All BRMR homes offer well stocked kitchens with all utensils needed to cook meals. There is also a "starter set" of paper products at the house: a roll of toilet paper per bath, a couple garbage bags, a small vial of dishwashing liquid, a few tablets of dishwasher detergent, some laundry pods, a roll of paper towels, hand soap, shampoo, conditioner, body wash, and some makeup remover cloths. There are enough of these items for one night, or maybe two.
- Firewood for the outdoor firepit may be purchased with a week's notice. You receive two wrapped, kiln-dried bundles and a fire starter for $25 plus tax.
- Check in is after 4pm
- Checkout by 10am
- Must be at least 25 years old to reserve. This person is required to be one of the persons staying in the property for the reserved dates.
- No smoking inside the home. No trace of smoking left outside the home.
- The garage on the lower level is not available to guests.
