First off: PearlCourt is listed as a B&B, but having been at two other Irish (real) B&Bs before we had expected more. I am SORRY I can't be very positive here.
Room: While our room/bathroom (most importantly, the bedsheets) seemed clean enough, the window frames were really dirty. Also, the carpet on the stairs didn't appear very clean; once I actually felt spider's silk on the way up.
Worst of all was the shower: just a dribble â impossible to wash our hair there, it would have taken us hours. Water temperature could not be fine-adjusted, it was either too hot or too cool. The fixture was at a height where I would have gotten my hair wet, but trying to grab the hand piece made everything come loose ...
Service: our room was only cleaned (beds made, toilet paper refilled, towels exchanged) once in our three-day stay. Also, the light above our bathroom mirror was broken and never fixed (although I told). A few nice books in the lounge, but no Belfast maps in the lobby.
Breakfast: Tea fine, toast okay, four cereals. No fresh fruit except for some grapefruit. (Hot food not tested.)
Strong points: Very friendly staff, they helped us find places, call a cab, etc., and let us deposit our luggage.
Good Wifi. Tea bags and instant coffee in the room.
To sum up, the Pearl Court may be a good enough place for young travelers, but then again it is very expensive for that group. (Our nicest B&B in Ireland â in Tralee, near Dingle â was about 10 pounds less per night.)
