Located in between the charming villages of Bamburgh and Belford, Poppy Cottage is a restful retreat. Sleeping two guests, it is perfect for couples or friends who want to unwind and relax. The Space:

Inside you’ll find a bright open plan dining area and living room. With neutral coloured walls and comfy leather sofas, this space is homely and welcoming. Spend quality time with your loved one after a long day of exploring the countryside. Turn on the flat screen TV and enjoy a cosy night in.



Poppy Cottage has everything you could need for your stay including a fridge, oven, toaster, microwave, kettle, washing machine and dryer. Cutlery, utensils and pans are provided so you can take full advantage of the self-catering facilities at the cottage. There is also a dishwasher so you can avoid washing the pots during your stay!



The bedroom is a relaxing space with neutral walls and plush carpet. The traditional, wooden bed is framed with bedside tables and lamps. There are even dressing gowns for you to use during your stay so you can get truly cosy.



The modern bathroom features a large walk in shower.



Please note that whilst the property does have Wi-fi, due to the location of the cottage the signal can be intermittent.



Guest Access:

Guests have access to the full cottage. The keys to the property can be accessed via a secure key safe.



There is free parking located on site.



Please note the washing machine is located in a shared laundry unit on the site.



The Neighborhood:

Poppy Cottage is located in between historic Bamburgh and the rural farming life in Belford. Ideally situated between the Northumberland coast and wilderness of the Northumberland National Park, you really do have lots to discover.



Surrounded by fields, trees and nature, Poppy Cottage has a lush, green backdrop. You can enjoy long, quiet walks and energetic hikes through the countryside. The area is packed with wildlife and even features a nature reserve, so birds like wildfowl and waders can be seen passing through in droves during the winter.



Belford has a thriving and friendly market square at its centre brimming with restaurants and inns. The Holy Island of Lindisfarne can be seen from various points around the village and is within easy reach. It’s an ideal base for those wanting to partake in a spot of fishing and golfing.



Poppy Cottage is just a short 10-minute drive from the gorgeous coastal town of Bamburgh. Here you’ll find miles of stunning sandy shores and Bamburgh Castle, which is one of the finest castles in the country. Standing on the Northumberland coastline for over 1,400 years, there is a wealth of history to uncover.



Getting Around:

Poppy Cottage is located within 20 minutes’ drive time to beautiful areas within Northumberland such as Bamburgh, Seahouses and Beadnell. There are excellent travel links as the cottage is only a short distance from the A1.



The closest train station is Chathill, which is roughly a 15-minute drive from Poppy Cottage so local towns in Northumberland can easily be reached via rail.



There are a number of bus stops throughout Belford. Hop on the 418 service to explore Bamburgh, Beadnell, Alnwick and Alnmouth amongst others. The X18 route travels between Newcastle and Berwick upon Tweed with stops in Morpeth, Amble and Seahorses.



Newcastle Airport is roughly one hour away by car.
