Construction mess, power outage, unable to contact Host in Emergency
Pros; great location, nice apartment. CONS: Avoid properties Hosted by Wonderful Italy, like this one is. Why? Wed return to apt, loft floor has debris all over the place. Ext construction proj causing interior stucco to break off onto floor, stairs, bed, AND,workers visible thru window in the shower, they can c us! call Host no response. clean up debris ourselves, ask workers to stop. Thurs, work resumes,new mess, water heater vent gets knocked off, potential deadly CO issue,Still no resp from Host, we talk to workers again, work halted. Host finally responds 24 hrs late states "systems" were down.Friday eve go to dinner, return 9 pm, NO LIGHTS, no power, no matches to light candle, borrow lighter from cafe, call Host, no resp, incl emer #, call VRBO, cannot reach Host either, but won't move us w/o email pic to prove we r in the dark, email not working, no power all night, bedroom in loft w no hand rail, no ac, getting warm, must cancel excursion next day as don't know when power will return, cell batteries dying, go to cafe in am to charge, still no pow, not Host rest, call constr worker, gets project mgr to come to apt and have pow fixed. Host rest later in day, opps! We loose 3 of 7 days of vaca due to Host not reachable, will refund minimal act, incl a whole 44 e for power outage mess that was stressful, no idea when repair would occur, no help from HOST or VRBO, only fixed cause WE were able to get help from constr crew ourselves, HOST could not be reached when needed
