Summary:

Set in open countryside near Aldbar, just outside Brechin, this substantial 360m², six-bedroom farmhouse blends traditional character with generous modern comfort. It’s a place designed for gathering - long dinners, slow mornings, competitive games of air hockey, and evenings by the fire.



West Drums is ideal for large family gatherings, milestone celebrations, multi-generational breaks, or group getaways in a scenic rural setting.



The Space:

The large kitchen diner, complete with a traditional Stanley range, is made for relaxed mornings. The dining table seats six comfortably, with an additional four seats at the island, making it an easy, sociable space for ten.



For more formal meals, the main dining room seats ten comfortably. With its open fire and generous proportions, it creates a wonderful setting for celebratory dinners, long lunches and memorable evenings.



The spacious living room has a woodburning stove. It’s the kind of room where conversations stretch long into the night.



There’s also a separate games room with an Xbox, board games, and air hockey, giving younger guests (and competitive adults) their own space.





Bedrooms & Layout



The house sleeps up to 10 guests across six bedrooms. It is fully accessible at ground floor level, with both a bedroom and bathroom downstairs, making it ideal for groups that include guests with limited mobility or elderly relatives.

To the front, uninterrupted views stretch across the Angus countryside. West Drums neighbours a working farm and livery, a reminder that you are in rural Scotland.



The extensive garden is predominantly lawned, offering space for children to play. Outdoor games are available, including badminton, cornhole, and giant Jenga.

Despite its countryside location, the house benefits from high-speed Starlink WiFi throughout, ideal for streaming, remote working, and keeping everyone connected.

Nestled in open countryside by Aldbar, just outside Brechin, West Drums Farmhouse enjoys a classic Angus setting, rolling farmland, wide skies, and a true sense of rural calm.

Brechin town centre is a 5 minute drive away for supermarkets, independent shops, cafés, and restaurants, giving you convenience without losing the countryside feel.



The dramatic scenery of the Angus Glens lies within easy reach for walking and exploring, while the coastline at Montrose offers beaches, nature reserves, and coastal views. The city of Dundee is around 40 minutes by car, with further day trips possible to the Cairngorms National Park and Royal Deeside.



With generous private parking at the farmhouse, the whole group can come and go with ease, whether you’re heading out for golf, castles, coastal walks, or simply exploring the Angus countryside at your own pace.



Many guests may choose to simply stay put, light the fire, open a bottle, and enjoy the space.





Other things to note



This is a peaceful rural home designed for relaxed gatherings and family stays.



Strictly no parties or events. This includes stag and hen groups. Bookings that do not comply with this policy will be cancelled.



Quiet hours are between 10pm and 8am. The farmhouse sits beside a working farm and livery yard, and we ask guests to respect the surrounding countryside and neighbours.



One well behaved dog is welcome. We kindly ask that dogs are kept under control at all times, not left unattended in the property, and kept off beds and soft furnishings.



Due to the rural setting, guests should expect typical countryside sights and sounds.

Guest Access:

Guests have exclusive access to the house and grounds during their stay.
