TIDES & WATERFRONT EXPERIENCE
Chico Bay is a tidal waterfront, which means the shoreline and water levels change throughout the day. The waterfront you see at check-in may look quite different just a few hours later. High and low tides occur approximately every 6 hours, creating an ever-changing experience for wildlife viewing, beachcombing, kayaking, fishing, and simply enjoying the water.

Because the tides dramatically transform the shoreline throughout the day, photos throughout our listing may show different water levels and beach conditions depending on when they were taken.

During high tide, the bay often reaches right up to the bulkhead, creating the feeling of being on a dock—perfect for kayaking, fishing, or even a summer swim. During low tide, more shoreline is revealed, offering opportunities to explore tide pools, search for shells, and enjoy beachcombing. No two visits are exactly the same, and that's part of the magic of Chico Bay.

Insider Tip: Like many Pacific Northwest beaches, our shoreline is naturally rocky near the water's edge. At very low tides, some muddy areas may be exposed farther out. Bring your mud shoes or waterproof boots for exploring, or feel free to borrow ours and embrace your inner beachcomber!

GUEST ACCESS
Guests have access to the Penthouse Suite and its private balcony, the Spa Patio, the Ridge Patio, and the Beachfront Lounge Areas and Beach. The Penthouse Suite is in the same building as other units; however, it is a completely separate apartment with its own entry.

Private areas: The owners live in the apartment on the main floor straight down the main path. Additionally, the Garden Suite is a separate suite available for booking (vrbo.com/1993857) and is located adjacent to the owner's apartment on the bottom level next to the garden.

Note: The Garden Suite has a Garden Patio that features a gas grill, gas fire table, and chairs, and is for exclusive use of guests that book the Garden Suite. Please use the Penthouse private balcony with your own private gas grill, gas fire table, chairs, and lounge chairs.

INTERACTION WITH GUESTS
Our check-in and check-out process is completely contactless with a smart keypad lock. Even though you may or may not meet us in person, we love providing recommendations for places to eat, drink, tour, and ways to enjoy the property and area! The Penthouse Suite is not completely soundproof, and you may hear sounds from other units.

Chico Bay Inn has a parking lot; Guests are allowed one parking spot (a second parking spot can be made available upon request).

We also want to disclose that we have exterior video cameras on the property that actively record outside of the house as well as a doorbell camera outside of the Penthouse Suite entry.
