The house was in a fantastic location and we enjoyed the river view and all of the wildlife. The house is definitely smaller than it looks on the listing - and there are really only 4 bedrooms (two additional beds are in common spaces, which was not initially clear). Overall a lovely spot.

My family of four and another family of 5 just completed a weekend getaway using this rental. We loved the location right on the river and enjoyed Congolese, sitting on the deck, and just taking in the river views. Our teenage kids loved their own space in the basement. We took a day and enjoyed exploring South Bend, an easy 30 minute drive away. Mancino’s Pizza about 5 minutes from the house is delicious and highly recommended! We had a small issue with the AC, but it was turned into a positive. Our host was so attentive and took. Care of the issue quick. Great hospitality! Thanks again….we enjoyed our stay.

Returning to Our Roots

I brought my family from California to my annual Family Reunion (Irish descendants). We were very pleased with the cleanliness of the home. Air conditioning worked in every space and worked very well. We cooked and baked and found most every kitchen item we needed. (Brought a couple foil casserole pans, and used them). Lots of garbage bags, paper towels and TP. Grocery and gas about 5-7 minutes away. Waking up on the St. Joe River was spectacular. My only criticism is the home listing is deceiving. First floor has Master bedroom and Main Level bedroom a bathroom with shower. The Sun room and Game/Garage room each have a double bed. Downstairs there is a bunk room and a bedroom. A very tiny bathroom with a shower. We never found Bedroom 5 & 6 with futons. We figured it out. Everyone had a place to rest their heads. Good trip.

River House

This is a great place to stay with a larger group, it was clean and comfortable. There was plenty of space for three generations of family. We shared meals around the huge dinning table, visited with friends and family and played a few games. We would definitely stay again in the future.

Relaxing and accommodating home

Our group was able to find plenty of spaces to do both active and quieter activities, such as kayaking and playing board games and enjoying the mini pool table. We found most of what we needed in the kitchen, although having a few helpful additions such as extra paper towel rolls, a few more dish towels and dish cloths would have been better. I also did not receive a notification from Vrbo of the check-in and had to call the host, who was responsive and prompt in getting me the answers I needed. The listing did not explain that the 6th bedroom is in a sunroom that is not a private space, so that could be updated.

Overall the place was super. Just a small thing was we were here on business and so we thought we were actually getting 6 bedrooms. There were only 4 bedrooms and two rooms with a murphy and pull out bed. The doors on the rooms has windows and no closet so that was a little misleading but nothing that we couldn't adapt to. The basement shower had luke warm water and just having little things like a place to hang your clean clothes in the bathroom or wet towels (so we didn't have to ruin the beds) along with hand soap in the bathrooms would have gone a long way. Otherwise, it was great. Minimal kitchen supplies at best but with what we needed the house for it worked. Otherwise a week long with family would have made it a little challenging to cook for 14. We would have loved to enjoy the outdoors and the creek running past but business called. It did the trick and we appreciated the owner coming over and fixing the heating issue in the one room. Thanks for a great clean house!

Great stay for an Irish football weekend

Had a great stay at this attractive, newly renovated home, right on the waterfront. It’s about a half hour drive to Notre Dame where we spent most of our time for game day and gave us a nice home base to prep our tailgate treats the night before. The big long kitchen table was perfect for game night and there were other fun amenities provided in the game room. Bathrooms are small and needed to be shared, but that didn’t pose a problem for our group, The decks (upstairs and downstairs) are fantastic... wonderful view for our morning coffee. Wish we had more time to enjoy that aspect since the home came with a fire pit/firewood and kayaks.
