This apartment is a 1 bedroom(s), 1 bathrooms, located in Broadstairs, England.
Beach Lookout is a charming one bedroom apartment with direct access to the famous blue flag "Viking Bay" in Broadstairs and unprecedented panoramic views of the bay and sea from the balcony. You have the pier/harbour arm directly opposite and watching the sun rise whilst laying in bed through the balcony doors is amazing (I have uploaded a photo). You can sleep with the doors open in the summer and the sound of the ocean crashing against the shore is one awesome soundtrack!
We are available throughout your stay if you have any questions, I usually respond within 5 minutes or so. If you have an emergency you can call me on the number provided when you book.
Broadstairs is a coastal town on the Isle of Thanet in the Thanet district of east Kent, England, about 80 miles (130 km) east of London. It is part of the civil parish of Broadstairs and St Peter's, which includes St Peter's, and had a population in 2011 of about 25,000. Situated between Margate and Ramsgate, Broadstairs is one of Thanet's seaside resorts, known as the "jewel in Thanet's crown". The town's coat of arms's Latin motto is Stella Maris ("Star of the Sea"). The name derives from a former flight of steps in the chalk cliff, which led from the sands up to the 11th-century shrine of St Mary on the cliff's summit.
The town spreads from Haine Road in the west to Kingsgate (named after the landing of King Charles II in 1683), a hamlet in St Peter parish[2] in the north, and to Dumpton in the south (named after the yeoman Dudeman who farmed there in the 13th century). The hamlet of Reading (formerly Reden or Redyng) Street was established by Flemish refugees in the 17th century.
You will have the entire apartment to yourself, you will also have access to the beach through the bottom entrance and the promenade through the top (main) entrance.
Upon entering Beach Lookout you find yourself opening the door into a secure hallway with a telecom to the communal front door and automatic lighting so no need to put your bags down when entering to turn on the light. The first door to the left is the lounge/kitchen/diner which has a bay window overlooking the beach, gardens and pier. This is my favourite spot during a stormy winters day, inside in the warm watching the world go by, the waves crashing over the pier and indulging in a book.
You have a fully equipped kitchen, so you can cook your own gourmet meal, serve up a take away in the crockery and cutlery supplied or walk up the 10 or so steps up onto the promenade where you have a host of fantastic restaurants within a 10 second walk or so. For this season we will be trialling tea/coffee/milk & sugar in the apartment too.
In the lounge you have comfortable sofas with seating for 4 if you wish to bring a friend back to see the apartment, although please remember we can only sleep 2. There is plenty of lighting, books and a few DVD's for people to enjoy.
If you follow the hallway to the end you will find your way into the Master Bedroom, upon opening the door you can see the carefully thought out space, with the light bouncing off the newly decorated walls. Your eyes will instantly be drawn to the French doors that lead to that fantastic balcony overlooking the bay. Out here you can sit and enjoy a drink, breakfast or I even like to sit out here on a summers day and read to the sound of the birds and waves lapping the shore.
Bathroom
Located off the hallway we have recently modified the bathroom, with a new shower and all accessories. We include towels for interior use (not beach), a flannel, hand towel and bath towel will be supplied per person. There is also toilet roll and hand soap too.
Railway
We are so lucky to have the HS1 High-Speed Railway straight into Broadstairs, so you can be here in 1hr 9mins from St Pancras/Kings Cross on a good day. Slower trains run between the towns 2/3 times an hour.
Bus
We have a fantastic bus system locally called the loop that circles the island and you are never more than 20 mins away from a bus stopping. In the summer they offer open top guided bus tours too.
Walking
Walking is an easy option, its great to fill your lungs with fresh sea air too but please be careful of the tidal areas between the towns.
Bicycle Hire/Routes
There is an amazing trail called the Viking Coastal Trail, locally you can hire bikes and information of this too will be ing the apartment.
We require guests to respect the fact that we have neighbours and to be respectful at all times.
