Newly renovated traditional Cotswold house with hot tub and sauna

Old Malt House is located in the heart of Willersey, just two miles from the centre of Broadway and conveniently located behind the village pub. The renovations were completed early 2023 and it is fitted out with all the modern conveniences you would expect from a luxury family home plus some fantastic extras such as a hot tub, sauna and boules / pétanque court. Due to the pattern of our rentals we can often allow earlier arrival and later departures, enabling more time to enjoy our beautiful house. Please enquire when booking and these are decided on an individual basis.

On the ground floor there is the kitchen with a large central island and seating on stools for 5 people. The kitchen spills out onto a patio with a bistro table seating 6. The kitchen has everything you would expect including two ovens, a microwave, Nespresso coffee machine, large French Fridge freezer with filtered water and ice. There are Sonos speakers too and a Sonos Roam for use outside (at a sensible sound level of course).

Next to the kitchen there is a large sitting room with two large sofas, a log burner and a 55" smart TV and Sonos surround sound system.

The dining room is panelled and has a dual aspect out onto the street. There is also an open fire. The dining table comfortably seats 10 and also has its own separate Sonos speaker.

Adjacent to the dining room is a study with an iMac for guest use and wireless printer as well as a casual chair for reading. The cocktail cabinet is within this room and will have various spirits for your use. There is a utility room housing a washing machine and tumble dryer.

Also downstairs is the main guest bedroom (after the master). This is a king size bedroom with its own ensuite with walk in wet-room shower, sink and loo. There is also a wall mounted 42" TV and ample storage space. This room has direct access to outside.

Upstairs the master bedroom has a super king bed and its own en-suite with bath and walk in wet-room shower as well as a double sink. The bedroom itself has a 42" TV and beautiful views down the garden and down the road.

The third guest room has a beautifully upholstered king size bed and shares a bathroom with bedroom 5. The bathroom has a walk in shower, sink and loo. Bedroom 5, on the other side of the Jack and Jill bathroom has a double bed with a wall mounted 42" TV. Finally the last bedroom has a brass king size bed and an en-suite with large shower, loo and sink.

The garden is where the fun is. There is a 5 person hot tub and a sauna as well surrounded by a gently trickling water feature. The sauna is a high speed warm up and is ready to use in just 20 minutes. There is a dartboard on the rear of the garage doors. On the lower patio there are two sun beds should you be fortunate with the weather.

As you head to the upper garden area there is a large outdoor seating area with a tilt roof which creates a completely waterproof seating area or partially shaded dining area. There are two sofas and a chair that comfortably seat 10 people. There is a large charcoal BBQ for those balmy sunny days and an electric heater overhead for when it cools down. There are two large flat lawns providing plenty of room for garden games (there is a croquet set available) and then at the bottom of the garden there is a traditional boules / pétanque court which is great fun for adults and kids alike. Throughout the garden there are beautiful borders full of cottage style flowers and feature plants.

The whole garden is very private and barely overlooked despite being in the middle of the village. The Bell next door is a handy addition providing traditional pub cooked food and there is a second pub in the village within easy walking distance called the New Inn. Broadway town centre is a 35 minute walk away by road or a much more pleasant 45-60 minute walk via The Fish Hotel or the disused railway line. There are endless walks nearby and various attractions such as Hidcote Manor, Snowshill, The Lavender Fields, Broadway Tower, Chipping Campden etc. Moreton in Marsh and Stow on The Wold are both 20 minutes drive.

What sets our house apart is that the majority of the time it is actually our home. Therefore when you stay here a lot of the basic requirements of a holiday rental will be provided by us; items such as toilet/kitchen roll, wash powder, cleaning items, log-ins to TV streaming services, basic cooking items such as oils, herbs, pasta etc. We also have a large drinks fridge which will be fully stocked and provided on an honesty basis at reasonable prices.

Our stay was a long weekend to celebrate a special family birthday. The house will not disappoint as it is amazing. From the cocktail bar, wine fridge and quirky wall art, amazing kitchen, so so comfy sitting room, where the log fire was laid ready to light to the very comfortable bedrooms, all with their own bathrooms it is exquisite. Very clean and inviting. Outside the garden has so many plants, all labelled with well manicured lawns The Hot Tub and Sauna are just right and were well used. Parking is inside the garage doors so off street The hosts attention to detail is second to none
so much art to study and discuss

What an amazing weekend

We had a fantastic weekend stay at this beautifully renovated Cotswold house. The decor was absolutely stunning – stylish, tasteful, and full of character. The garden was a real highlight for us – spacious, peaceful, and perfect for relaxing. We especially loved using the BBQ, and the hot tub and sauna were such a treat. Mind-blowing/life-altering weekend away

This place is like something out of a dream - there was something to appeal to everyone whether it was petanque, the sauna, hot tub, bar facilities, disco ball, dartboard, patio area. Magical Stay at the Old Malt House

We stayed at The Old Malt House with friends to celebrate a 40th birthday. We were blown away by the location but the property itself left us speechless. Amazing !

We stayed here and had the most wonderful quality time with family we haven’t seen for a while. The place is perfect. It’s beyond luxurious and has been designed beautifully, simply STUNNING. Daniel replied to any queries immediately and was generous allowing us to check in early and check out late. He also kindly gifted us champagne and beers which started our family reunion off a treat. New Years Eve Break

What's not to like!

The Old Malt House is a lovely house with old bones but totally redone to update it. The kitchen is highly functional and is surrounded n two sides by sliding glass doors that link it to the extensive garden, hot tub, and sauna. The dining room looks as if one should attend in formal dress, but is very comfortable. The property owners have a relaxed approach that simplified settling in for a few days, providing access to kitchen supplies.

Incredible - a 15/10 property

Properties do not get any better. Every aspect of the place we stayed at was incredible. It wouldn’t surprise me if one of the owners was an artist while the other an interior designer. The photos speak for themselves. On a more granular basis the property has the right aspect and gets sun all day. The outdoor seating area has a heater and hence is warm and comfortable. The jacuzzi is clean, new and is easy to use. Coming and going is a seamless task. Off street parking means you don’t worry about your car. There is nothing about this property to complain about. Superb all round.

The most wonderful place to celebrate a big birthday

Luxury in abundance - that's how the whole weekend felt. Every little detail has been thought of. We are a family of 9 who were able to be together when we wanted to be (all sat around the dining room table) but the Old Malt House is so well designed that no body felt that they were living on top of one another. My grandfather of 103 found the downstairs bedroom and walk in shower perfect. I loved the Cocktail cabinet and the full length drinks fridge. I'm desperate to have one of my own. It's the first time I've ever used a Dyson hairdryer - and I'm sold! Each of the rooms has an ensuite - one is shared between two rooms but that makes it so much easier for big groups. Sitting in the garden under the gazebo, I felt at peace and I know my family felt the same. The kitchen is just perfect. Stuff dreams are made of. I don't want to say too many more great things - as I don't want the house to become so busy that I can't stay again in the future. Plus I think it's nice to leave some details as a surprise...there's nothing that you won't like x

It had everything we could need, including a well stocked honesty bar with a very good selection. We loved the hot tub and sauna, and the views from the immaculate garden. Daniel was very helpful and responsive, providing extra flexibility on arrival and check in. The only disappointment was leaving! Would definitely love to return in future.

Fantastic property is great location

We cannot recommend this house highly enough. We stayed as a party of 7 for a special family birthday. The house itself has absolutely everything you could wish for - all mod cons and an eclectic range of decoration and furnishings. We had beautiful weather and so the wonderful outside spaces came into their own. The views up into the hills behind the house are spectacular and those fond of walking will find interesting nearby trails. Willersey village itself is picture perfect with two good pubs serving food. It’s only a 25-30 minute walk or short drive into Broadway with its wide range of shops and restaurants. Great time had by all and Daniel could not have been more helpful throughout the whole process.
