Location:
Sweet Briar Lake House is located in the back of a large private gated "Upscale" subdivision that borders Fontana Lake. The subdivision's entrance is hidden from The Great Smoky Mountains Expressway (HW 74) which connects it to all the main attractions of the region. The restaurants, shops and Deep Creek entrance to the GSMNP are about a 20 minute trip back HW 74 to Bryson City. The Harrah's Casino and Cherokee Indian Reservation with its many cultural exhibits, shops and Visitors Center main entrance of The Great Smoky Mountains National Park are another 15 minutes past Bryson City. If exploring the sights of Fontana Lake itself appeals to you, you can rent a pontoon boat about 15 minutes away at the Almond Boat Dock. If you are in the need of a little more exciting time on the water; try white water rafting down the Nantahala River about 30 minutes down HW 74.

Access road:
Cars and Most All vehicles- Paved and hard packed gravel sections on a well-maintained mountain road, Switchbacks and moderate to steep incline sections possible, no washed-out section. The roads to this property are not considered 'Motorcycle Friendly'.

Exterior:
Sweet Briar Lake House is a sleek and contemporary luxury property overlooking the beautiful Fontana Lake. Unique to Sweet Briar, this cabin provides an awesome private dock with direct access into Fontana Lake just a few steps from the back door. Swimming, Fishing, or Boating, Fontana Lake offers something for everyone! The cabin is composed of two levels and features 2 bedrooms with 2.5 baths with a spacious outer deck that beautifully display the picturesque views of Fontana Lake and the surrounding Smoky Mountains. The deck is covered so you can enjoy the incredible views and take advantage of the spectacular outdoor space in any weather condition. Take a relaxing soak in the hot tub on the deck or roast some marshmallows over the open flame of one of the two impressive stone log fire pits down in the yard. The outdoor amenities also include a gas grill and wonderful outdoor shower available for enjoyment.

Entry Level:
This cabin is the perfect combination of comfort and elegance. The open floor plan is welcoming and inviting with extraordinary floor to ceiling window displays showcasing the breathtaking views of Fontana Lake like priceless works of art. The living room is centered around a glorious stone wall fireplace with comfortable seating surrounding. The kitchen is equipped with beautiful stainless-steel appliances and provides all the culinary tools you will need for an enjoyable dining experience. Enjoy the traditional dining room table inside or take your meal outside as the cabin provides ample open-air seating options on the deck for some unforgettable al fresco dining. The master bedroom is also located on the entry level equipped with a king size bed and private en-suite bath with a luxurious walk in shower and paired duel sinks.

Lower Level:
The second bedroom and family game room are located on the lower level of the cabin. Similar to the entry level, the lower level also beautifully showcases the stunning Fontana Lake and Smoky Mountain views that surround you at this amazing cabin. The second bedroom is furnished with a king size bed with the adjacent bath outfitted with a tub/shower combo arrangement. The large game room is the perfect place to chill out after a day playing on the lake, and is equipped with a flat screen tv, plush leather sofas and loungers, and a bumper pool/card table. There is also a really cool coffee table that doubles as a foosball table that surely will be entertaining. There is also a bunk bed located in the game room perfect for additional sleeping capabilities.

Special Note : Fontana Lake is a man-made lake with water levels controlled by the Tennessee Valley Authority (TVA). After Labor Day each year, the TVA lowers lake levels 60-feet to allow for winter snows and spring rains making the floating dock at this cabin inaccessible for the Fall and Winter months (October - March) . Fontana is a very deep lake, so even with lowered lake levels fishing is not compromised and public access ramps remain open all year.
