The Space:

La Casa Errante 1 by Tiny Away, located by the town of Castilenti’s charming outskirts, is a 43-minute drive from Pescara. The tiny house is near the Fino River sits at the base of Gran Sasso, with views over an organic vegetable garden and a small chicken farm.



A short drive connects you to the sea and a night sky unspoiled by city lights. Explore Europe's largest green vertical farm, learn about sustainable hemp cultivation, and enjoy fresh produce from Sole d’Italia. Along with easy access to notable sites like Torre di Cerrano, Costa dei Trabocchi, Rocca Calascio, Campo Imperatore, and Parco Della Majella.



A comfortable, 252-square-foot tiny house with easy access to water, split air conditioning, a kitchenette, cooking equipment, and excellent bathroom facilities. These amenities an eco-friendly cassette toilet with a removable waste holding tank, hand basin, and shower (gas heated for hot showers). There are three tiny houses on the property.

Guest Access:

Guests can access the tiny house and surrounding areas. All areas are freely accessible to guests, with the exception of the vertical farm. The vertical farm can be visited by appointment only.

What's more, this tiny house captures the vibrant energy of Pescara, offering a cozy retreat for those looking for an authentic Italian experience, free from the usual tourist trappings.



Our local recommendations:



- Torre di Cerrano, perfectly preserved, is central to a 3,431-hectare marine protected area. Visitors can explore its exterior, museums, a large library, and the Maritime Museum inside.

- Costa dei Trabocchi or The Abruzzo coast features about 30 ancient "trabocchi" fishing structures, wooden platforms over the water, connected by footbridges from Vasto to Ortona.

- Rocca Calascio towers at 1,500 meters in Abruzzo's Gran Sasso-Laga National Park. It is one of Italy's highest castles. Famous as a film location, its char, and cinematic history draw visitors.

- Campo Imperatore in Gran Sasso National Park, known as Abruzzo's largest and highest Alpine meadow, is celebrated as Italy's Little Tibet. Ideal for nature enthusiasts, its vast landscapes and 360-degree views offer a breathtaking experience of geological history.

- Parco Della Majella is one of Italy's largest national parks, protected under the WNF as a Pan Park. Highlights include Pescocostanzo, a medieval town surrounded by expansive plains ideal for exploring.



Getting Around:

By car:



- From the nearest city, Pescara, it takes approximately 1 hour and covers a distance of 50 kilometers.

- Nearest towns include Montesilvano, 45 minutes away, and Chieti, 1 hour away, both within a 40-kilometer radius.

- The destination is reachable by both 2WD and 4WD vehicles.



By public transport:



- Guests can reach our property by train or bus from Pescara, the nearest city.

- There are regular train and bus services connecting Pescara to nearby towns.

- From Pescara, it takes approximately 1 hour by train or bus to reach Castilenti. Additionally, we offer a private shuttle service from Pescara to Castilenti for €30 for up to 4 people plus luggage.

- To get to the nearest towns from our property, guests can use local bus services or hire a taxi. The nearest towns include Montesilvano, 45 minutes away by car, and Chieti, 1 hour away by car.

- There are taxi services available in the area for transportation within Castilenti and surrounding areas.



Other Things to Note:

- Wifi is available

- Pets allowed by prior notice

- Charcoal BBQ Grill is available

- No unregistered guests or visitors are allowed

- No smoking inside the tiny home, except outside

- Please be advised that we have livestock (and noise) on our property

- Please expect limited connectivity as the tiny house is set in a rural locality

- The hot tub is available for use free of charge (currently unavailable until May)

- Don’t forget to close the windows and lock doors when leaving the tiny house/ property

- Make sure to turn off the lights, air conditioning, and electronics (e.g., especially chargers)

- Mobile signal is good for Vodafone, Orange S.A., Wind, and Three; The rest has weak signals

- We would like to advise guests that longer stays or later check-outs will incur an additional charge

- A very affectionate medium-sized male dog is on the property; if necessary, we can relocate him to another area.

- You will find free-range chickens on the property, and you will likely be awakened in the morning by the crowing of the neighbor's rooster.

- The hot tub is available for use free of charge (currently unavailable until May).



Important note:



- NO BBQ grill and open fires during dry season or a total fire ban

- Pets are not allowed on beds and sofas and clean after your pet’s droppings

- Please clean up after your pet’s shedding before checking out courtesy of other guests

- Please note that this is a PET-FRIENDLY property, and pet policies will be sent prior to arrival

- Due to the nature of the property, abundant wildlife may be present in the surrounding areas

- For stays of 5 nights or more, an additional cleaning fee will be collected to help maintain the cassette toilets and ensure a clean and fresh experience for all guests. We appreciate your understanding.
