Please understand that the Cottage has a septic system and only bodily waste materials or biodegradable toilet paper can be flushed down the toilet. Absolutely no feminine hygiene products, including tampons, are to be flushed even if the product is labeled as ‘flushable’. Please also remember because of the septic not to put any solid waste materials, coffee grounds or grease down the sink drains.
If there is a sewage back up and we find evidence of any of the above, we will defer this cost back to the guest.
We are on a well, most guests don`t mind it but you`re welcome to bring your own water.
There are natural changes that may occur in the area that is out of our control. Although these occurrences are rare, they do sometimes happen. Please be sure to ask us if there are any reports of water quality in order to ensure your stay is not affected. If we are informed of any information after you book but prior to the stay, we will inform you.
Please note that profiles with a lower review rating than 4.5 stars will not be allowed to book our property on an instant book basis and if for whatever reason the reservation confirms through the system, the reservation may be cancelled. For guests with new profiles without reviews, these requests will be reviewed manually and will be subject to screening and questioning before a reservation may be confirmed.
Fire Pit & Burning Regulations (Central Frontenac)
This property is located within the Township of Central Frontenac, where all open-air burning is regulated by municipal by-laws.
Please note:
* The property holds a valid fire permit; however, guests must comply with all current Township of Central Frontenac burning regulations.
* Guests must check the Township of Central Frontenac’s current burning hours, fire hazard status, burn bans, and any fire restrictions before lighting a fire, as these regulations may change throughout the season.
* No fires are permitted during burn bans, fire restrictions, or when weather conditions make burning unsafe.
* Burning is prohibited during high winds or other hazardous conditions.
* Fires must be attended at all times and fully extinguished before leaving the area.
* Only clean, dry firewood may be burned in the designated fire pit.
Guests are responsible for complying with all applicable municipal fire regulations during their stay. Failure to comply with local fire regulations may result in fines and/or liability for any damages caused.
Deposits may be required.
1. All guests must be disclosed.
2. Deposits may be required for guests, up to $500.
3. Do not make excessive noise or listen to loud music.
4. No usage of illegal substances.
5. Please do not re-arrange the furniture.
6. Early Check-In or Late Check-Out is $50.00/hr.
7. Guests agree to pay for damages exceeding deposit.
8. A maximum of one hypoallergenic pet is allowed.
9. Guests are responsible for removing their own garbage.
10. Guests must disclose the reason for their stay and how many people will be with them.
11. Primary may need to guest provide government issued ID.
12. Do not flush anything down the toilet except provided toilet paper. No paper towels, no Q-tips, no diapers, no kleenex etc. This may cause damages to the septic, which will be at the cost of the guest.
If any house rules are broken, there may be a charge of up to $500.
