The Space:

The layout of Villa Merlin is designed to allow natural light to flow freely through the space, creating a warm and inviting atmosphere that surrounds you. This comfortable retreat accommodates up to 10 guests, with 4 bedrooms, 3 bathrooms, and 2 kitchens offering plenty of room for everyone. With an elevated ground floor and a lower floor, connected by both internal and external staircases, the villa makes the most of its sloping land, ensuring every room is filled with light and connected to the surrounding nature. The main area offers a spacious living room with direct access to the fully equipped kitchen, while comfortable sofas, a 55-inch TV, and a cozy dining area provide the perfect space for gatherings. Each of the four bedrooms features a comfortable double bed, air conditioning, and views of nature from either a window or balcony door, inviting you to wake up in serene surroundings. Three of the bedrooms are also equipped with smart TVs, and all have blackout curtains for your comfort. The villa has three bathrooms, two of which are en suite, with walk-in showers, while the third offers a relaxing bathtub. Practicalities such as a washing machine and basic toiletries ensure convenience during your stay. The kitchens, fully equipped with all the necessary tools for cooking, include a water filter, oven, fridge, microwave, dishwasher, coffee machines, and more. Step outside and be surrounded by lush greenery, vibrant flowers, and breathtaking views of nature. The outdoor lounge and dining area offer the perfect setting for meals under the sky, while the sunbeds around the pool invite you to enjoy the sun and the refreshing coolness of the water. The Neighborhood:

Varipetro is a well-known suburb of Chania city with many locals choosing to stay there. It is a maximum 15 minutes drive from the city center (9km). A quiet place, which is a very good choice if you want to be close to the city. The area of Varipetro is one of the most fertile in Crete , the area is known for its citrus fruits such as oranges, lemons and mandarins, also avocado varieties are grown with significant production and superior quality that are exported within and outside the country.

Near Varipetro, in the area of Agia Kyriaki, the old “metochi” of Agia Kyriaki has been restored. The monastery is a special and impressive attraction for hundreds of visitors every day, especially during the summer season, with a stunning view of Chania and the rich vegetation of the area.

The lake of Agyia is a reference point for the region with important species of fauna and flora, but also a place where migratory birds and non-migratory birds find shelter. The ecological importance of Lake Agia is also reflected in the fact that the lake is protected by international treaties. A walk along will delight you, note that you will find 2 cafes on the lake where you can enjoy your coffee and dessert.

At the foot of the White Mountains, you will find the "Botanical Park and Gardens of Crete", an area of about two hundred acres awaits you to discover fruit trees from all over the world, herbs, medicinal and ornamental plants. You can also try their cuisine with their own local fresh produce.

Going above you will find yourself at the Omalos Plateau, a truly wonderful spot, among the high peaks of the White Mountains. Its unique atmosphere will charm you, as will the authenticity of the Cretan mountainous countryside. You will find some traditional taverns with quality food. In the Plateau there is the point Xyloskalo where the famous Samaria Gorge (National Park of Samaria) starts and ends in the village of Agia Roumeli. It is home to many endemic species of birds and animals, the most famous of which is the Cretan goat, known as the kri-kri. The gorge is one of the major attractions of Crete, attracting many thousands of tourists who want to walk the route.

Finally, near us you will also find the historic village of Therissos with its wonderful route through its homonymous gorge that will lead you to the village where you will find quality taverns with delicious food.
