Elm Bank is a beautifully refurbished Cotswold stone holiday cottage near Stow-on-the-Wold which sleeps 9+3 guests, in five bedrooms, with the +3 option being a double sofa bed and a single day bed, with five bathrooms. This fabulous detached property boasts three spacious reception rooms, one with a stone fireplace and cosy open fire, along with a generous wrap-around garden, a lovely space to unwind in the warmer months. Elm Bank is a charming home with varied décor and a range of modern facilities including a well-equipped kitchen and a TV with on demand services including Netflix and Disney+.

The Stow Horse Fair is held twice a year, typically on the Thursday closest to 12th May and the Thursday closest to 24th October, however, we would recommend checking the exact date ahead of placing your booking. This is a traditional fair for gypsies and travelling people to meet up and trade which dates back to 1476 when its Charter was granted. Stow is very busy for a day or two before and after each fair, and a number of shops, pubs and restaurants are closed. Whilst many visitors enjoy the colour and vibrancy associated with the fairs, other visitors prefer to avoid Stow on these dates
The entrance lane turn is tight, so guests with a large vehicle may prefer to use the free public parking lay-by on the road nearby
Elm Bank has a lovely garden for guests to enjoy and it is important to the owners that guests are courteous and considerate towards the neighbouring properties. We politely request that guests do not disturb the neighbours and that noise is kept to a minimum after 22:30

Summer Holidays

Elm Bank is the quintessential Cotswold residence. It met all our expectations and more and had all the facilities we needed. Having use of the house over the week really made the trip special - knowing that was our base each day after daily outings in the area.

the house is beautiful and in an excellent location for visiting the cotswolds. the pub down the road offers a varied menu and very friendly . There is everything in the house that you need to make your stay comfortable. There are numerous rooms each offering a different outlook all very spacious. Would recommend this house.

Sun blessed Home! loved it !!

Very clean, well organised, fully equipped and placed perfectly ie designed for plenty of sunlight, really glad we chose this venue. most of the Major Cotswold venues are 20 - 30 mins drive away avoiding busy roads and even the area its situated with small town, was perfect for our 5 day break. left us with lasting memories and we left loads of laughs and happiness in there too.

Great location and lovely house

Stayed as a family to celebrate a 75th birthday. A lovely house with plenty of space, clean and well furnished. Feels like a real home with two cosy living areas. Excellent location for trips to other areas of the Cotswolds. Pub opposite is well worth a visit, very welcoming with good pub grub. Parking is tight as called out in the info but is ok for mid sized cars and plenty of space in the lay-by opposite

Beautiful stay nestled in the heart of the Cotswolds

We were exploring the cutest little town on our walk, and came upon the cottage that we were staying at on the walk! Centrically located to Stow on the Wold and the lower slaughter- couldn't have been more perfect for our large family. The grocery store was close by, and we loved getting eggs and ice-cream from the farm down the road. We had three small cars, and parking was a bit tight, but overall we enjoyed our stay! Would recommend!

The title says it all really. House is very comfortable, could do with a stair gate and it has a very pleasant garden. Beds and rooms comfortable and a good location for visiting places of interest for young children.

Great place for a big group.

Lovely property, great location fir extended family

The property was extremely comfortable and well equipped to meet the needs of an extended family. The indoor spaces coupled with the garden meant it was ideal regardless of the weather. The location was ideal for exploring the Cotswolds and with Stow being 3 or 4 minutes drive, the lack of a djop in yhe village was not an issue. The house is across yhe Road from the Golden Ball pub which served great food. An ideal place for a relaxing family break.

The property was booked for a special family occasion and chosen specifically for quality, number of beds and location. The experience was excellent on all counts. The house was clean and well stocked. It was comfortable for all guests and in a perfect location for enjoying the local area. A very comfortable stay for a big family

We have a pleasant stay at Elm Bank. There was ample room for 8 adults and 3 kids. It's convenient located just outside of Stow on the Wold along a quiet road. We enjoyed using the BBQ and spending time in the garden. The house was very clean and well maintained. The property management team was also very responsive and replied to emails quickly.

Great place for a family gathering

We were celebrating a 90th birthday. Accommodation was ideal for the 9 of us. Lovely to have a large dining room table that we could share leisurely meals together. Well equipped kitchen for providing even a 3 course meal. Enough comfortable seating for us all in the lounge area. Great to have the open fire on in the evening.

A wonderful place for a family gathering

11 of us met here to celebrate a 90th and 30th birthday. Elm Bank was very clean, spacious and well equipped and there was plenty of bathrooms for everyone. We had 4 cars between us and there was plenty of parking at the cottage ( a little tight for larger vehicles) and in the layby opposite. The cottage is well located for local walks and visiting nearby towns and villages. We had wonderful weather so were also able to enjoy the garden. A really lovely stay.

Perfect weekend stay in spacious, comfortable house

Such a great weekend in a beautiful spot. We visited as a group of 12 for a 40th birthday gathering. Each couple had their own room and bathroom, and the kids made use of the additional rooms (the sofa room downstairs was also a separate room). Beds were really comfortable and all the rooms really homely. House is really well equipped, right down to personalised letter mugs!!! House was warm and we all felt at home right away. Plenty of carpets for the kids to run around on, they absolutely loved it. Would love to go back, one of the most comfortable, spacious places we’ve stayed.

A great stay over Christmas for a family group

The house was really spacious and comfortable and worked very well for our group of two grandparents, four parents and our four children aged 6 to 14. The kitchen had everything we needed to make a Christmas lunch with all the trimmings (double oven, plenty of dishes and oven trays etc) and a dining room table that comfortably fitted us all and crockery and glasses that rose to the Christmas occasion! We appreciated that the house had been tastefully decorated for the festive season. We spent a lot of time in the cosy front room, and also enjoyed various walks from the house, particularly walking up to Stow a few times, and also through to Lower and Upper Slaughter and across the ancient fields at the back as mentioned in the information left in the house. I really appreciated the comprehensive information left by the owner, it really felt as though we were being welcomed to the house and the fact that the time was taken to note how to make the most of the area and tell us about all the ins and outs of everything in the house (maps, walks, best washing machine programmes, etc!) made me feel really welcomed. Thank you. Also very efficient and friendly contact with MyClean regards getting the key code. Again, thank you.

Comment on ground floor layout

The house was really clean and well appointed, with a very well equipped kitchen. Our only criticism was the location of the dining table, a long way from the kitchen. We ate in the kitchen, but it was a bit crowded. There were two reception rooms we didn’t use. The house would work much better if the kitchen and room next door were made into one large kitchen with a bigger dining table.
