Introducing Hygge Caribbean, a luxury condominium in beautiful Christiansted, Saint Croix. The property is on the quiet and more private north east side of the Schooner Bay resort. The resort has a tennis court and two swimming pools with beautiful views of the Caribbean, Christiansted, the mountains and the Gallows Bay Marina. One pool can be seen from the condo and is a very short walk from our front door. The landscaping is lush and beautifully maintained and there are outdoor areas to relax with barbecue grills available for making the perfect meal. Schooner Bay has onsite security, onsite maintenance, and backup generators for your peace of mind.

There are 4 restaurants and bars located a short walk from the condo. It is a short walk to Altona beach and this is one of two bioluminescent bays on St. Croix where you can view the glowing marine plankton and jellyfish. There are six other beaches within 10 minutes’ drive. It is a short walk to Gallows Bay Marina for QE IV Ferry to St. Thomas. Grocery stores, markets, parks, bakeries and take out restaurants are a few minutes’ walk away. Christiansted Boardwalk is about 15 minutes’ walk or a short car or taxi ride. Here you can experience more world class restaurants, bars, shops, ferry to Protestant Cay Beach and boats to Buck Island, scuba diving, snorkeling, fishing, and seasonal events.

The condominium boasts 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. One bedroom has a queen-sized bed and the other has two twins (there is a kit to make the beds into a king). Once you book you will be asked for your preference and we will take care of it. Each bedroom has a TV and new split air conditioning system. The condominium has a 30-foot covered gallery/balcony with comfy chairs and a dining table with 6 chars with stunning views of the Caribbean Sea. All rooms have ceiling fans except the gallery which has a wall mounted fan. An open plan living room and kitchen with sliding doors out to the gallery means that no one gets stuck in the kitchen and misses the fun or the view.

The kitchen has a powered island with seating and USB A and C plugs. There is also another table that can be used for meals or as a desk for those who cannot get away from work.

The kitchen is well stocked with appliances and gadgets, spices and other necessities. We always leave local rum and coke for our guests for the perfect welcome. There is a laundry room in the condo with washer and dryer and laundry supplies. The hot water is provided by a 220 volt 30 gallon tank that provides water for a great high pressure shower. We have stayed in other condos on St. Croix where water is barely tepid and drips out of the faucets because of inadequate water heater.

Hygge Caribbean is an Alexa smart home with control of lights, fans, water heater, etc. It has a 4K 65-inch smart TV with Roku that you can install your own apps and channels and they will be wiped when you leave. There is high def cable TV with lots of stations including HBO, ESPN, BBC, etc. Audiophiles will be happy listening to the Polk sound bar with subwoofer. The sound bar is also equipped with Alexa so you can listen to Spotify and Tune In Radio or you can listen to your own device with Bluetooth. Free high-speed Internet with a Wi-Fi 5/6 powerful router.

For those concerned with hurricanes and storms (hurricane season is June through October with peak in September) , we have just installed hurricane shutters and these can be easily closed to shutoff the condo from any bad weather.

For those who have to work we have great internet, a desk, chair, monitor, keyboard, mouse and USB docking station and of course a beautiful view to admire while you are working. There is even a spare laptop if you have issues with yours or have to work when you didn't expect to work.

The condo is ready for your perfect vacation with all linens, beach towels, beach chairs, water toys, beach toys, etc. There is also a pack and play that converts into a changing table for the kiddos.

We provide all of our guests with our Welcome Guide once booking is confirmed. This guide is an excellent resource giving lots of information about our home, the resort and the island in general. We also have useful videos and other material on youtube to help our guests plan their perfect stay.

We provide some basic food items, condiments, spices, etc. for our guests in case they do not want to go to the store on arrival and so they can quieten any rumbling stomachs. These will be in the fridge, freezer, and cupboards. Please use these items if you need them. We encourage our guests to refill or replace as appropriate. Guests usually leave a few things for the next guests. The on-island staff vet these items to make sure they have not expired and are consumable. However, you may want to double check dates, etc. Most of our guests are happy for this policy but if you do not want to use these you can get your own items.


St. Croix's weather is perfect year around and the beaches and reefs are among the most beautiful in the world. It has several world class gourmet restaurants but be sure to make reservations early.

Due to the condos’ convenient location, it is certainly possible to have a wonderful stay without a car especially with the taxi services that are available and with the help of our Guest Services Manager. However, if you want to venture out to play golf, go to a world class beach or just explore you may want to rent a car. We can give you tips for most cost-effective rental options and remember there is an additional fee for cars rented at the airport. Free parking is provided at the condo.

Once you have booked Hygge Caribbean we will assist you with transportation and other arrangements where possible.

St. Croix is served by direct flights from many US cities. It is also quite easy to get from St. Thomas to St. Croix via Seaborne airlines which operates planes to St. Croix Henry E. Rohlsen Airport and seaplanes from Blyden Ferry Terminal in Frenchtown to Christiansted harbor. The plane docks about a mile from the condo. Seaborne Airlines has baggage agreements with many airlines. You can also get a ferry from St. Thomas to Christiansted and disembark just a short walk away from the condo in Gallows Bay Marina.
