Located along the Essex Sunshine Coast, near the Suffolk border, there are large sandy beaches, nature reserves, a Victorian pier with amusements, theatres and golf courses as well as shopping and leisure facilities all within easy reach. The town also offers a range of pubs and restaurants.

Coastal Gem is perfectly located, only 750 metres from the beach. You can find restaurants, takeaways, shops, pubs and local supermarkets all within walking distance, including the award-winning fish and chips just a couple of hundred yards away – obligatory for any seaside break.

Within easy reach is the town of Colchester, great for some retail therapy and café culture whilst soaking up the rich Roman history. You’ll also find numerous visitor attractions including the famous castle and Colchester Zoo. If the countryside is more your thing, Constable Country is a short drive away. Flatford Mill and Dedham Vale are just a couple of the places that offer some beautiful walks along the river. For those more at home on the water, why not hire a rowing boat or paddle board?

If you’re attracted by the bright lights of London, trains run directly from Clacton on Sea. You’ll be at Stratford within 80 minutes where you can indulge at Westfield or explore the Olympic park.
