thanksgiving disaster

This looked like the perfect place for our family Thanksgiving weekend. We all live in different states and chose to gather in Clear Lake. The garage was just what we needed. I asked the host specifically if the garage was heated and he assured me that it was. My husband and I and our three adult children all stayed in the house and we invited my husband's sister and her family to join us Friday afternoon. All was set for the perfect holiday celebration, except that the heat was not working in the garage. The host called a man to fix it and we were told that there was no gas hooked up to the garage so the heater would not work. He came inside and looked to see how the hookup was in the house and discovered that the system was poorly done and not up to code. When we began making dinner we discovered that the stove/oven did not work. After finding out that there was no heat in the garage and the oven/stove did not work we frantically found another place for our family dinner and had to cook the food at a friends home and transport everything to the new location. Thank God for friends. When I mentioned a partial refund to the host he refused and said that we were not to have more than eight people on the property even as visitors. I assured him that there were no more than the five of us due to the fact that we had to relocate the family gathering. Even so we were unable to cook a meal and hang out in the "garage hangout" We clearly did not get what was promised.

Wonderful stay in Clear Lake

My family of 5 come to Clear Lake every year for the CLASS car cruise and show. We have bounced around the lake every time but have found our final destination hopefully. House and garage were exactly what we needed for our weekend. We didn't use the garage much but it is well equipped as is the house. Neighbors were very friendly too.
