Upon checking into this property it became very apparent by the smell that this property had regular pets staying here. The listing did say pet friendly, but by no means did I think it was going to be this bad. One room and a closet smelled like pee. There were several dog beds throughout. The tenant downstairs did indicate the owner stayed there with his dog and when it was rented the tenant would dog sit in the basement suite. the shower upstairs was broken, the fire place wasn’t fully enclosed leaving a hazard for kids, and dishes were left in the dishwasher. He also had ant bait in the corners which are a hazard for guests too. However my son reacted so poorly that he was immediately ill. We advised the host but he was unaccommodating in the least. He refused to offer any compensation nor provide a refund. I would stay far away from this home especially for the price we paid! we left and had to find elsewhere to stay for the last leg of our vacation. We didn’t even stay - just long enough to collect photos. Still working with VRBO to resolve this issue.
