Birch View Studio is a 2800-sq ft, hand-built loft-style space tastefully converted from a woodworking shop in 2024. Nestled among 12 acres of woods on a hill crest looking south over Presqâile Provincial Park and Lake Ontario, it provides a relaxing and restorative rural experience with an emphasis on comfort and understated luxury.
The property features a generous private outdoor space with a hot tub and Finnish-style wood-fired sauna that affords an immersive 180â view of the surrounding forest. Robes and slippers are provided for your comfort. A loop trail onsite provides space for forest-bathing and walk with your four-legged friend.
The studio is less than ten minutes uphill from Presqâile Provincial Park, and a very pleasant 40-minute drive on rural roads to Sandbanks Provincial Park, Picton, and the wineries and restaurants of Prince Edward County. For cyclists, hikers, and cross-country skiers, the studio provides easy access to a network of trails that wind through the County. We are five minutes away from the towns of Brighton and Colborne, with easy access to the beautiful Trent Hills and the quaint villages of Grafton (with Ste. Anneâs Spa and Bakery), Warkworth (featuring Centre & Main Chocolates) and Stirling. The Meyersburg Flea Market and numerous local antique shops are nearby.
Guests have unrestricted use of our Ontario Parks pass, which provides free day-use admission and parking at Presqâile and Sandbanks, among other local parks.
A continental breakfast is available on request. A selection of tea, Nespresso coffee and brewed coffee is provided on the house. Light snacks (fruit, cheese, and charcuterie) are available with advance notice for a nominal fee.
Your well-behaved pet is welcome at Birch View. Treats, bowls, and other necessities are provided. We ask that dogs remain on leash on the property and that they remain at floor level while inside the studio.
Youâll enter the studio into a climate controlled workshop/garage area that contains a ping pong table. The doors to your left open to a hallway with a luxurious 4-piece private bathroom with a riverstone walk-in shower and soaker tub. The main space includes a full (and very well-appointed) kitchen, a dining area seating up to six people, several seating areas, and a screened-off bedroom area with a wonderfully comfy king bed. On request, we can easily replace one of the seating areas with a very comfortable queen bed.
For your comfort, Birch View is free of artificial scents. We provide a full complement of unscented personal care and cleaning products from The Unscented Company.
Your hosts, David and Barry, are in a separate house a stoneâs throw away on the property and are available to answer questions and provide concierge services.
