Oceanfront Deck, Overlooking the Wave! Pet-Friendly - KeyWester

KeyWester is a fabulous oceanfront 4/2 right on the Gulf Of Mexico. Enjoy beachfront living where you can sit on the back deck and hear the waves crash right in front you! Drink coffee at sunrise and beverage of choice at sunset with this perfectly located pet-friendly beach house. The home has an open floor plan with view of the Gulf from almost every room in the house. The property does NOT provide an outside grill. The property enjoys two gulf side King bedrooms that both walk right out onto the beachfront deck.

As with all of our Dauphin Island Beach Rentals, all linens and towels are provided, WIFI, along with a fully-outfitted kitchen. There will be a starter pack of toilet paper, paper towels, and trash bags; please plan on bringing more for day 2 ;). A great beach vacation is waiting on you!

Please note the following:
1. Minimum Age for the Primary Renter is 25, and Primary Renter must be present for the entire stay.
2. Maximum Occupancy numbers include Children 3 and over and cannot be exceeded at any time.
3. All of our Homes are Non-Smoking.
4. A signed Rental Agreement is Required, which contains additional Rules and Guidance.
5. This property does not allow weddings or parties.
6. Check-in time is 3 pm, and check-out time is 10 am.
7. Start dishes and linens before departure.
8. Take the trash can to the street on Tuesday night and Friday night.
9. This home is pet-friendly, dogs only, 2-dog maximum limit, $100 pet fee per dog applies.

Fantastic location and view! The house was clean and comfortable. Our family of four and puppies had plenty of room to relax! Four stars on listing accuracy just because the pictures need to be updated. They've painted and replaced the appliances but it's not like it impacted our stay in a negative way. The original color scheme was more fun as now it's all gray making it feel less tropical. The fridge no longer has an ice maker and water in the door. They did have ice in the freezer but we bought a bag of ice at the Publix in Mobile before we checked in. We loved the location and basically having our own private beach. It was fairly chilly when we were there so in warmer weather and if all of the houses are booked around it, there would definitely be more traffic but I would think people probably wouldn't set up right in front of the house as there are big open spots in between it and the other houses and the public beach is close. They don't have beach towels available so bring your own, or the owners should invest in some generic blue towels for guests. They only have a pizza pan with holes, no solid cookie sheets. No biggie, just would have liked one with no holes for cooking since we didn't have foil. There was what appeared to be broken glass by the stairs and I should have told the owners about but forgot. They were very communicative, easy to contact and quick to reply. We loved hanging on the deck to watch the dolphins and enjoy the view!

It would be nice if there was a boardwalk from the parking area to the property. It’s hard taking luggage and other provisions through sand dunes. Also other properties we have stayed at include dish detergent, hand soap in kitchen and bathrooms, tissues and some spices including salt and pepper. The house was very nice but the return air vent in the living room was filthy. The porch lights on the back deck were out.

Dauphin Island Trip

House was nice. Location was great. Excellent restaurants to choose from. Several options of things to do. Deck over looking the Gulf was a great spot to read, relax, and enjoy the sounds of the water. Very relaxing getaway.

Nice place right on the beach

Our family loved the location and the house fit our needs perfectly. The maintenance and housekeeping are lacking though. Towels were put away wet under the sink. Many lights were burnt out or not working. Some of the decking up front wasn’t very safe. The master drapery smelled of dog urine so bad I couldn’t even sleep in there. I don’t think the floors were cleaned prior to our stay. Sticky in spots and sandy before we even walked in. My overall rating was a 4 only because of those issues. It’s a little of Heaven on Earth if you stay there.

Slept in the waves

We always look for a new adventure and this house had us sleeping in the waves !! We loved hearing the ocean all day and night . The tide literally comes up u see house at night ! The beach in front of the house isn’t really where you can sit and play because the tide is unpredictable as to how far it comes up with each wave . We used the beach area between the houses . We saw dolphins almost everyday , the sunset and sunrises are so beautiful. The only complaint really was the neighbors that rented the road front house would post up their fishing poles against our house right in front of where we would sit . There isn’t a ton of sun on the parking side of the house first tho h in the morning but is perfect mid day . The only other “ complaint “ is their is no access to the house from the parking spot without going through the sand so there is no rolling a suitcase . If you want to look for shells and have a pretty peaceful beach this is it . I even found my first ever sharks tooth here !!!

Excellent Location

Excellent location..Beautiful Views. But.. We went on a mini trip for our anniversary. I didnt think I would have to clean on arrival. Dishwasher was full of dirty dishes. Utensil draw had dirty silverware in it. Counters were sticky and there was spilled coffee down the cabinets. The only things left for guests to use is toilet paper and laundry tablets and dishwasher tablets. Make sure u bring all condiments(salt/pepper ect) For the price I suppose i was expecting it to be clean..

Right on the water

House was clean and seems as if the property was painted not so long ago, the furniture is not new, nor is it shabby and is comfortable.The patio furniture is new and comfortable, with a knockout view of the Gulf. The house had adequate start up supplies for kitchen and bathroom, and water pressure that you won't believe, with a big refrigerator (bring as much as you can). Of course, the house is on stilts, so be prepared to climb stairs. One thing if looking for a beach, there is not one, the high tide is actually under the house. But between the parking area and the ocean, it is wide enough so you can put a chair,or towel, and sun
but walking the beach is not going to happen there, but just 4 blocks away is all the beach you need, miles of it, unincorporated. The picture shows a beach, but over time the ocean has eroded it out. The Town needs to get on the ball and organize restoring the beach, put a dredge out several hundred yards, and pump sand to the shore, and re-establish the beach. A storm(while we were there)had water down the road and sand accumulating on Vaca CT, so if rental agency says beware of flooding conditions, do so (as we experienced)...but you will get stuck if sand has any accumulation on Vaca Ct near the beach, just park back by the main street, and no problem. There is a pizza place and several good restaurants on the island, and one decent grocery store, convenience,hardware,and boat&beach supply store that has 90% of what you need.

Beautiful, well-appoonted beach house.

This home has an amazing view and spacious rooms. Situayed between "town" and the bublic beach, it is perfect for families. This house is pracrically IN the ocean so you can hear the waves wven with the doors and windows closed, and the hime itself provides shade for beach time play in the sand. Numerous shells to be found just outside the door!

This house is right on the water and the front deck offers a completely unobstructed view of the gulf. Many dolphin sightings throughout the week were a real treat. Be aware that there are oil rigs visible several miles off the island if that bothers you (we got used to them and actually find their lights pretty at night). You can also see big ships on the horizon entering and leaving Mobile Bay. House is near the park at the west end of the island where you can enjoy an endless, wide-open beach without houses, or if there's high wind/high surf you can play in the more calm waters of the sound. Note that the "street" the house is on is all sand and you have to park in that sand. Be careful how far you pull up into the sand or you may get stuck. Also the entrance to Vaca St. floods with about 6" of water when there's heavy rain and takes days to the water to go down. We discovered that our trash can was missing but the management eventually provided another one. Dauphin Island is NOT a glamourous resort island with trendy restaurants, clubs and shops. However it is a great place to have a quiet, relaxing week at the beach by yourself or with family and friends.

This Home is Exactly What We Were Looking For!

This was our first trip to Dauphin Island and our vacation home was perfect! We spent every morning on the deck over the Gulf, went surf fishing right in front of the property, and the kids had a great time shelling every morning. The beds were comfortable. Everything we needed was in the kitchen. Things were very tidy upon arrival. We appreciated the hose at the top of the deck to wash off some of the beach sand, rather than track it inside. It was all and all a great stay and we will definitely book again!

Hidden gem

We were looking for a quiet place to go and unwind from the craziness of the city . We usually go to florida but found dauphin island and decided to give it a try . We were in for a surprise ! This home is so quaint and beautiful! It’s right on the water so you can hear the waves come in . The view is spectacular . The sunsets make you never want to go home . This house has everything you need . The island is a small Island so grocery shopping is something you want to do before you come . Other then that everything was perfect ! We will be back !
