In the evening, catch live music or a show at Queens Hall or Dunoon Burgh Hall, both known for bringing world-class acts to this little corner of Argyll. Just outside town, Benmore Botanic Garden (7 miles) is a peaceful paradise featuring lofty redwoods and colourful flora. Pull on your walking boots and head off on the woodland trail at Puck's Glen (6 miles), which winds through a mossy gorge past waterfalls and quiet pools. It feels like stepping into a storybook, especially with the local legends of forest spirits in the air.

Use the side door to enter this homely cottage. Step inside and you’ll find a sleek kitchen-diner, where characterful countertops and well-equipped appliances make cooking effortless. Settle at the table for candlelit suppers, then wander into the cosy living room, where a warming wood-burner, a deep sofa, and a Smart TV make it a lovely space for evenings in, whatever the weather brings. From the kitchen, use the stairs down to the ground floor, where you will find your charming double bedroom with peaceful decor and French doors opening directly onto the garden. The bathroom includes a bath, shower, and WC.

Use the French doors to step onto the patio at the rear of the property and immerse yourselves in views of the Firth of Clyde.
