I wanted to give this rental a fair chance, but unfortunately, the experience was incredibly stressful from start to finish. From our very first message, the host came across as cold and resistant—especially when I asked about a cot or air mattress for my two young kids. The reservation clearly shows the number of children, so it would’ve been easy to anticipate the need, but instead, I was met with hesitation.Things got worse when VRBO sent a reminder to confirm check-in details. I reached out days in advance, and again the day before, only to be told she’d send instructions “the day before”—which never happened. By 11 PM on arrival day, with no communication and no plan, I was left scrambling. With all family-friendly options booked, I ended up in a hotel that felt unsafe—all at sky-high rates.What made it even more frustrating was VRBO’s lack of support. I waited online for hours, got disconnected during a call with no follow-up, and was given no real help finding alternative housing. For a platform that requires bookings through them to qualify for refunds, the lack of accountability and customer care was completely unacceptable. This wasn’t just an inconvenience—it was a breakdown at every level.
