‱ A strictly animal-free zone with no option policy, and no smoking due to family members, children, and grandchildren having asthma, severe allergies.
Additionally, the house is marketed to families with a similar medical issues.

Lastly, we also welcome immunocompromised guests, including cancer patients who are undergoing or recovering from treatment.

Please kindly respect our policy. There are other pet friendly and smoking allowed rental properties on the island.

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION

CANCELLATION: Due to the nature of the vacation rental business, if you cancel, change, or move the check-in date for ANY REASONs (such as weather, hurricane, death, sickness, job loss, plane cancellation...) will follow:

‱ Cancel, change or move the check-in date 61 days or more prior to your check-in date will receives a full refund
‱ Cancel, change or move the check-in date less than 60 days prior to your arrival date WILL NOT receive a refund

HURRICANE AND MANDATORY EVACUATION: If there is an ordered mandatory evacuation due to hurricane or other events, you are required by state law to vacate the property. If you declined trip cancellation insurance, you shall not be entitled to a refund by us.
SHORTENED STAY: No credit nor refund will be given for shortened stays due to the late arrival or early departure for any reason.

Because of our strict cancellation policy, WE STRONGLY RECOMMEND GUESTS PURCHASE THE CANCELLATION PROTECTION, TRIP INTERRUPTION, OR TRAVEL INSURANCE TO PROTECT YOUR INVESTMENT, especially during the hurricane season, June 1 to Nov 31. It is not much, but it's sure to save you a lot of headaches. Please read their fine print or contact them to get more information. Because we have no control over their terms and policies.


WARNINGS: It is very important to know that All the dunes and bushes on the island are the poisonous snakes’ habitats. This has been known in Galveston for many years. Please stay off the dunes and bushes. Stay on the dune walkover to get to the beach. Always watch your steps when you walk on grasses or the walkover.

BUGS: ants, mosquitoes, chiggers, palmetto bugs, cockroaches, silverfishes, spiders, love bugs, big bugs, small bugs, tiny bugs, and all kinds of bugs are part of Galveston's life. Because we are in the coastal region with wetlands and open ditches surrounding.

To control these pests, the house has been scheduled to be sprayed quarterly and annually by our local pest control company. Per our pest control company, the spraying does not prevent them from crawling or flying in during the open and close of getting in and out of the house. However, if they do get in, they won't survive. You might see them unexpectedly during your stay.

Do not leave the door open, close it immediately after use, turn off the outside lights at the doorways also help to minimize them from getting inside. Because lights attract bugs.
Please do not bring food, snacks, candy into the bedrooms to prevent ants. Please do not leave food crumbs on the floor, inside the house will attract ants, or the ground floor, outside where the picnic tables are, will attract wild animals such as snakes, ants, bugs.

NEW CONSTRUCTION:

The house is in underdeveloped communities. We do not know exactly when new construction will start or how long to expect construction on any house to last. You may reserve a house at a time when there is no construction, but it may begin prior to your arrival.
We regret any inconvenience that may result. We have no control over these situations and are unable to refund you the money.

Wonderful property!

This amazing home, a short walk from the beach, was wonderful for our family - everything promised. We had 15 people - grandparents, 3 kids and their families. We had 6 in the bunk room and couples in every king bedroom. We went to the beach but also visited many other tourist spots - including Johnson Space Center in Houston. It's a must see! We didn't even use the televisions as we were always doing something. Played games, etc. In the garage we found 3 wagons and beach chairs and a few beach toys too. There's a shower (in the garage) to wash off the sand as well as a hose outdoors. Because we're elderly, our kids made the executive decision to pay extra for the elevator - it was soooo worth it. I loved having it available. There are 6 decks (I think). It was a little warm and windy so we didn't use them a lot in July, but did sit out some evenings. The walkway to the beach is very close to the house. The entry to the subdivision and the walkway to the beach are gated with a code to enter. We heartily recommend this house to your large group. Oh yes, Mai, the property manager is wonderful and was always available when I had questions. We decided after we arrived to pay for the elevator and it was done in minutes.

A perfect beach family vacation

This house is beautifully decorated and very clean! We enjoyed the big living area - kitchen, dining and sitting area with the lovely beach view. The 2nd floor patio area was great for hanging out in the shade while watching all the fun out on the beach. The walkway was so handy. We used the first floor area for cooling off and showering after a day at the beach. Having all of the beach equipment at the house-chairs, canopy, wagon- was very helpful. This was our second stay at this house!

Clean beach rental

Place was clean. Furnishings are good looking and simple. Proximity to the beach and downtown is great. Any issue we had was promptly taken care of by the management. Would book again. Cons: No elevator, potential construction next door.

Fabulous family weekend!

Mai was an extraordinary virtual host. Communication was outstanding with helpful info at exactly the right times. The home is beautiful with modern décor. It has the essentials, as well as a few games and puzzles. The gulf views were beautifully even on the less-than-perfect weather days.

The property was beautiful. We were 8 adults and the place had 2 large couches in the living area and a large dining table. We came to scatter my parents ashes and it was perfect. The house was right on the beach just east of Stewart Beach where my parents spent time when they were young. It was really close to restaurants, the Strand and the Pleasure Pier. We did have an air conditioning issue, but I called Mai. She and her husband called their repair person, then brought over portable air conditioners. The repairman came right after and fixed the issue. We would definitely stay there again.

Perfect for a family weekend

We loved our little weekend here as we could fit our family (with several kids) in the kitchen and living area and every bedroom had a full bath access! The beach was right there and felt like a private beach! We would definitely recommend and stay here again! The owners were so helpful and accommodating! Great at communicating, too! Thanks for a lovely weekend! Can't wait to come back!

Perfect Family Christmas Vacation

This house simply can not get any better. It exceeded every expectation; comfortable beds, great living space, well-equipped kitchen, plenty of linens and towels just to name a few. The location, the beautiful beach and the Gulf view are outstanding. We arrived just before Christmas and just after a very rare hard freeze for Galveston. The freezing wind and the low temperatures froze the water pipes despite every and all precautions taken by Mia and Tom. After many calls for assistance and working for hours trying to resolve the issue themselves, we had water!!!! Their concern and attention and determination to make this a good vacation for my family was incredible and I can never say enough good things. Thank you so very much!

Fabulous Beach Vacation

What a Way to Celebrate your 95th Birthday

Beautiful home with picture perfect view of Gulf. Front row seat to watch ships come and go. Just minutes away from great restaurants, The Strand, anywhere you wanted to go. Highly recommend. Our Hosts were only a text away if we had any questions or needed assistance.

Lovely property, Excellent location, Amazing Host

This was the first family vacation we had taken in over 16 months and, given current health, economic, and safety concerns. Our stay at Wilde Dunes exceeded expectations. Our group ranged in age from 2 years to 60 years, evenly split between children and adults, and males and females. Everyone had a great time and did not want to leave. We had no concerns about safety, health, etc. The home was very clean and sanitized which is important for our family which suffers from auto-immunes, asthma, allergies, migraines, and hypersensitivity to fragrances and odors. The location was exclusive, yet accessible for dinner and grocery deliveries. Mai, our hostess, was phenomenal. She was prompt, accessible, pleasant, knowledgable, and accommodating. Mai took great care of us and we honestly did not miss concierge services at all. We plan to schedule another family vacation at one of Galveston Luxury Vacation Rentals' properties next year and we highly recommend Mai and Wilde Dunes. Thank you Mai!
