My grievances are not with the staff; they were kind and doing their best in a very poor situation. My purpose in filing this complaint is to warn others from making the mistake of staying at this hotel.
This hotel is unsanitary and looks nothing like the photos advertised. Any positive reviews appear misleading. Upon entering our room, there was an immediate and overwhelming body-odor smell. The air conditioner rattled loudly and emitted a hot, unpleasant odor, causing concern it could be a fire hazard.
We were initially placed in one room and complained about the shower. We were moved to a second room; however, both rooms had the same strong body-odor smell, and both showers were set up identically. The shower nozzles were fixed and would not turn past halfway, forcing us to take lukewarm showers.
The property was extremely dirty. Debris, dirt, and trash covered the floors and were never vacuumed—the same wrappers were present upon arrival and departure. The walls were filthy, and the bathrooms contained visible mold. I am highly allergic to mold and experienced red, swollen eyes and constant nasal drainage during my stay, with relief only when outside the hotel. The bathroom air vents had years of accumulated dust and were clearly never cleaned.
Fire alarms were missing batteries, creating a serious safety concern. Although signs stated “excuse our mess, we are remodeling,” this appeared to be an excuse for ongoing uncleanliness. I could go on and on….
