Ground floor room, located very close to lift resulting in lots of noise and foot traffic making it difficult to relax. No water available in room. Only 1 pillow provided. Disappointing when compared with previous visits to other Malmaison sites.

My room was given away when I arrived at the hotel and I was put up in serviced accommodation which defeated the whole purpose of staying in their luxurious accommodation.

Dear Anonymous, Thank you for taking the time to review our hotel. I am very sorry to hear you weren't able to stay in our hotel on Monday evening. Unfortunately we had a flood in one of our rooms which has forced 2 bedrooms to be uninhabitable at the moment. Therefore this lead to us having to re-locate some of our guests as a result. We hope you can accept our apologies and we would love nothing more than to make it up to you by welcoming you back to the hotel in the near future. Best Regards, Team Mal

This is a handsome hotel, part of the small malmaison chain. Our room was OK, but very noisy as other guests shouted down the corridor until after 1.30am. Breakfast in malmaison is usually great, but a lack of any kind of muesli was disappointing, and the very salty bacon served with waffles wasn't at all crispy as advertised. Staff could probably have sorted this out, but there isn't always time not to get things right first time.

Dear Anonymous, Thank you for taking the time to review our hotel. It's unfortunate that you have lift us with a mixed impression of our hotel. Whereas its pleasing to hear that you were a fan of the hotel, it's disappointing that you were disturbed by noisy neighbours in the corridor as well as breakfast not living up to expectation. We have a Duty Manager on shift at all times who is ready to assist with anything you need and would have been able to put a stop to the noise had we known there was a disturbance. We appreciate your comments about breakfast service and apologise that things didn't go to plan. We will share your feedback directly with the team to ensure that the high levels of service that we are normally so well renowned for are reviewed and improved upon to make sure your next visit is a more memorable one. Nice Hotel close to town

Pros: Location and quality of room comfort
Cons: cleanliness
Hotel was good and staff were very helpful unfortunately visit was let down by a long dark hair in the sink and small piece of broken glass on bathroom floor which I stood on.
