HOME ON THE RIVER:
Ein Blick auf Choptank Fluss von allen Zimmern in luftige 2-Zimmer-Wohnung mit Küche und Bad (James Micheners "Chesapeake" lesen). Eigener Eingang, Terrasse, Dock mit Kanu und Kajak. Ruhige Lage innerhalb von 2 Meilen von der Stadt und relativ nahe an Washington D. C.Baltimore, Philadelphia PA & Annapolis, Maryland sowie Dover, Rehoboth Beach Delaware und Assateague Island National Seashore. Nur 45 Minuten vom Atlantischen Ozean entfernt.
Die privaten Eingang der Wohnung blickt auf den Fluss und grenzt an einen Bach, die auf dem Kamm eines Hügels ist ein Panoramablick auf den Fluss aus allen Fenstern, von denen es 17 mit vier Panoramafenster geben. Unser Haus ist ein "Baumhaus auf dem Fluss" wegen seiner Nähe zum Wasser (20 Meter von der Anlegestelle) genannt und ausgewachsene Bäume rund um das Haus. Das Haus befindet sich auf 18 Morgen meist bewaldeten Grundstück.
DIE FUNKTIONEN:

- Zwei Schlafzimmer, eines mit Königin mit nach unten Topper und Tröster und die zweite mit zwei Einzelbetten mit Schaumstoffauflage und mit Daunenauflage und die beiden Schlafzimmer haben Cabrio Sofas mit Schaum und unten Topper-Size-Bett. Alle Betten sind mit feinen Bettwäsche und Kissen.

LAGE & UMGEBUNG
eine private Terrasse zu haben für die Mahlzeiten mit einfachen Zugang zum Dock zu verwenden, wo ein Kanu ist und drei verfügbaren Kajaks für den Einsatz. Darüber hinaus gibt es eine Feuerstelle, die Blick auf den Fluss. Mit einer Kaffeemaschine (Cuisinart K-Stil) und die Grundversorgung können die Gäste direkt für einen angenehmen Aufenthalt zu begleichen.
Unser Gebiet ist ländlich, aber relativ nahe an großen Stadtzentren wie Washington D. C. & Baltimore, MD und den historischen Städten Annapolis, Easton, St. Michaels und Oxford MD. Nur 2 Meilen von der Stadt von Denton und 45 Minuten vom Atlantischen Ozean, Lewes und Rehoboth Beach, USA sowie Dover, Delaware. Es gibt eine öffentliche Landung und Restaurants und ein Irish Pub in Denton zusammen mit einem Super-Wal-Mart für Ihre Grundbedürfnisse. Zwei große State Parks innerhalb von ein paar Meilen von unserem Haus und ein Arboretum verfechten einheimischen Pflanzen der Küstenebene Region zusammen mit einem Museum und Shop.
TRANSPORT
Da wir in der Eastern Shore of Maryland befinden, ist ein Auto erforderlich. Fahrräder sind in unserem Hause zu nutzen und es gibt viele schöne Landstraßen zu radeln.

Wonderful visit

We had a wonderful 2 night stay while attending the VMI/Navy game in Annapolis. Everything was clean and well kept and the hospitality was excellent. A bottle of champaigne was waiting for us (Anniversary weekend too) and fresh baked cookies. Enjoyed a canoe ride down the river too. Highly recommend this remote little treasure...thanks for a great stay.

Beautiful experience!

Helen and Peter take pride in their rental! They make sure that everything is perfect for their guests! The extra touches such as the homemade cookies upon arrival to the breakfast foods waiting for you in the refrigerator make your stay perfect! Their rental provides you with the perfect setting to enjoy nature as well as the surrounding towns!

A Perfect Place to Relax

The four of us thoroughly enjoyed our stay at at the River House Apartment. Its perfect setting includes an outdoor shaded eating area as well as a the river dock replete with kayaks and a canoe. Great place, great stay

The moot point apartment was just perfect for my husband, our active golden retriever, and me. We stayed for 4 nights. It was private, well furnished, and extremely comfortable. A good shower, a great bed, comfortable furniture, and a super kitchen with everything you'd need. And decorated so nicely, we felt so at home. Right outside is a short walk to the dock on the river, where we saw the osprey in the morning, and went for a swim to cool off in the afternoons (including the dog!). Peter and Helen are the ideal hosts; very helpful if you have any questions, but are in no way intrusive. They even provided a couple of "dog towels"! All in all, we felt completely relaxed and contented during our stay. We would definitely stay here again!

Beautiful site, wonderful hosts!

My husband and I spent our spring break in the River House Apartment, and we could not have picked a more restful site. Peter and Helen made us feel immediately welcome when we arrived, and we found the accommodations to be charming--and much more than adequate. The kitchen is well-appointed with everything one might need to prepare full meals, and the two bedrooms were charming in their design. The views we had from all rooms were spectacular: we watched osprey, ducks, geese, cardinals, and other birds beside and on the Choptank River throughout the day and early evening. Our dogs were truly happy with the freedom that we could offer them, as they were able to roam the wooded areas beside the house safely. (They consider this place to be Doggie Heaven.) Thank you, Peter, Helen, and Sophie, for making our vacation on the Eastern Shore a memorable experience.

Peacful river side respite

My wife and I had a wonderful time celebrating our 7th wedding anniversary and taking a much needed time out to spend time together in a peaceful setting. Peter, Helen, and Sophie (the dog that even people who don’t like dogs will love!) are the perfect hosts—they are friendly, flexible, non-intrusive but available. The bedrooms are large and the living space is cozy. Peter and Helen add nice touches to make your stay easy and welcoming. The terrace expands the apartment to the outdoors. The ample trees provide shade, breeze, and privacy, but views of the river are amble. The river itself is a major attraction. We were surprised by how few people we saw while kayaking (provided) or swimming. We did encounter plenty of wildlife including nesting birds, frogs, and one snake! Nearby Denton (5 min drive) provides at least two good restaurants while Easton (30 min drive) turns up the charm one more notch. However, we enjoyed one evening of just cooking at the river apartment and eating on the terrace. Thanks for a wonderful weekend!

Great Stay and Great People!

Truly loved the River Villa Apartment. Helen and Peter were kind folks who were great to chat with, especially right there on the dock. They have two lovely dogs which was a plus for my dog-loving family. The bedrooms were stunning by the way! And I know in the future, I will always consider Choptank River for a getaway.

Peaceful river retreat

Calm and comfortable apartment with private entrance and beautiful views of forest and river. I loved the quiet forest setting, easy access to the river (via private dock and free kayaks), and outdoor patio with firepit and grill. The beds are comfortable, the kitchen is well-stocked, and there are lots of thoughtful touches. he owners are kind and helpful. A good base for exploring the Eastern Shore or just hanging out along this beautiful river.

Very Nice Get-Away Close to DC

The property was very nice, fitting and relaxing for our group of three. We had to spend some time indoors given the weather and work obligations: it proved cozy, even adapted to remote working with two Zoom sessions in parallel. The place is filled with light on sunny days. I'd just put a little caveat on the size of the kichen/living-room and bathroom (which is accurately described in the listing anyway). The bedrooms are very large on the other hand. You're also sharing the place with the owners upstairs. But you know all that before booking. The outdoors are great with access to the Choptank river from a private dock. The owners provide kayaks and a canoe which we enjoyed very much. The property is also conveniently located between the Delaware beaches and the Eastern shore of the Chesapeake for those who want to tour the area in half-day trips or less. Lastly, and importantly, the owners are very nice. In those Covid times, it was not a good time to mingle, but you'll get the extra attention. In our case, we received the great favor of a very, very late check-out.

Fun Girls weekend

We had a great weekend at the Riverhouse. Paul and Helen were very sweet and helpful. They even put up an umbrella on the dock for us. Would love to come back.

Wonderful stay at this riverfront apartment!

My family of 4 had a wonderful stay at Helen & Peter's apartment! It's a private apartment that occupies the lower level of the main house, but was built in a galley-style layout that makes it feel very spacious and gives every room an amazing view. Everything was clean, and there were many welcome touches like fresh milk, eggs, butter, English muffins, cookies, and flowers waiting for us upon arrival - lots of condiments too which came in very handy for cooking!! The owners recently rebuilt the dock and in doing so added a brand new floating dock which my kids (5 & 9 years old) LOVED cannonballing off of :) The water was just the right depth for swimming and playing - my 9 year old could stand fairly easily at all times of day, and at low tide the water closest to the dock drops closer to knee-height - a perfect splashpark! We all had a great time using the included kayaks (2 adult sized + 1 slightly smaller, perfect for the average pre-teen) every day of our stay. The river is very calm with lots of nooks and crannies to explore, and Peter's advice on the tidal patterns maximized the distance we were able to kayak with minimal effort! Also, the internet service was GREAT!! We weren't sure what to expect due to the rural location, but my son was able to attend his online summer classes with no problems whatsoever! So happy to have found this gem!!! :)

Great Get Away Location

Peter and Helen are gracious owners who make you feel right at home! This is a perfect spot to relax and soak up the wonderful scenery on or off the river. Having access to the dock and kayaks was key for two boys to stay active throughout the day. We didn't know how much our dog enjoyed the water until our recent visit. It's an easy short 2 hour trip from Chester County, PA - can't wait to return. L. Smith

So wonderfully relaxing - lots to do or little to do

First, Helen & Peter are warm, welcoming people. Arrived, there were flowers (real) on the table, staples in the fridge, freshly baked cookies, it was a lovely 1st impression. The "apartment" was great for just the three of us, but the room our daughter stayed in had a lot of beds and was very roomy. Don't count on the internet all the time, but if you have Verizon, you can get it sporadically. The TV gets Netflix and other wired in channels, so if you must watch something, you can. But, go outside and take a look at the Choptank River. You can swim, canoe, kayak and even fish with a net. It's just peaceful. We went to St. Michaels our first day, went all the way to Tilghman Island and crossed the country's busiest drawbridge! The next day we went to Rehoboth, DE, so there were side trips one could make. It was the perfect get-a-way! Will be back!

Cozy Spot on the River

We just returned from a lovely stay at the Moot Point Farm River House. The property was exactly as advertised: a cozy retreat on the river, away from the hustle and bustle of urban life. We are from the mid-west and this was the last stop on a two-week east coast lacrosse tournament tour. We found the apartment to be a welcoming resting spot at the end of a busy day. We loved watching the ospreys on the river tending their nests. We also loved the dog friendly accommodations and found some near-by restaurants dog friendly as well – a definite plus when traveling with pets! The owners, Peter and Helen, live upstairs and, while not obtrusive in any way, were highly available for any of our needs. They seem to truly love sharing their home with others and took a genuine interest in the comfort of our stay and our lacrosse activities. Truly a unique property!

Awesome and amazing!!

This place is a gem and the proprietors are wonderful. If you want a relaxing and quiet getaway, this is it. You can hang out on the dock and read, jump into the river and swim, explore the river by kayak, or just sit and watch the ospreys and other birds. Helen and Peter are conscientious hosts who make sure their guests have everything they need. We'll definitely be back!
