Marys Gatehouse Apartment

Mary`s Gatehouse is a newly remodeled 2 bdrm/1 ba furnished basement apartment (part of larger home) in a very quiet, safe, upscale neighborhood. Well lit + airy space, decorated w/contemporary art created by host (for sale). Walking distance to several restaurants. 10 minutes to downtown Greensboro + the Tanger Center. 15 minutes to Greensboro Coliseum for events/concerts. Large bonus room w/couch + seating and full size bed. Rent just the apartment or the entire house (upstairs is `Artopia`)

The Apartment:
This is a well lit and airy finished garden apartment which is part of a larger home (also available for rent). Rent the whole house (VRBO ID: 3333198 Artopia) or just the apartment. There are stairs descending to the private entrance that also leads to the private patio space. This apartment has a full kitchen, washer and dryer, full bathroom with a stand up shower, and two private bedrooms. The primary bedroom has queen bed and the second bedroom has a Full bed.

New PlatStation 5 added to the living room TV! Two controllers and `COD` game included to play while at the home :)

Parking:
There is one dedicated garage parking spot (garage door openers are available upon request), and one parking spot in front of the garage. Any additional cars can use the free street parking parallel to the driveway.

Bringing your Tesla? There`s a FREE Tesla charging station in the garage for your convenience.

We also host a studio apartment across the street (VRBO ID: 1407884 Tranquility).

Guest has a private entrance following the stairs down the side of the house. The private entrance is attached to a private patio with a couch and dining table.

Quiet and safe. If you love nature, this neighborhood is for you. Deer, many birds. Lots of dog walkers too.

Home is located near a small neighborhood pond with no fences. No swimming for people or pets allowed.

Convenient Location and Safe Stay

The location is so central to everything we wanted to explore in Greensboro. I would look up the address of our daily plans and it was always just a quick drive away! Check-in and check out was super easy and directions were clear. Very much appreciated the communication of our host.

The property was great. Comfy bed. Beautiful setting. The only issue was that the basement was freezing. But we were able to activate the mini-split and make it more comfortable. Hosts were awesome and super responsive. I would definitely stay here again!

Perfect addition to the upstairs property!

I rented this property along with the main house for my daughter’s wedding weekend. My daughter and her bridesmaids loved having their own, special space. The apartment was beautifully and comfortably furnished with a well-stocked, full kitchen, comfy beds, and fabulous artwork throughout. The apartment had a separate entrance, making it an ideal separate rental as well. The neighborhood and location were great, along with the lovely yard. The apartment was clean and well maintained, and Stu and Linda were friendly, responsive hosts. Many thanks for providing such great accommodations!

Just as responsive & pleasant as always!

Second time staying with this owner (first in this property). They have addressed the issues noted in earlier reviews re: noise and finishing the second bedroom. Check-in and check out just as smooth as they could be, house rules actually quite generous for guests, and neighborhood/amenities can't be beat. If you're unsure about booking this place...don't be. You won't go wrong unless you have mobility issues. If you do...well, this is a basement, but check with the owners as they have other properties that very well can suit -- as owners they are just about perfect.

Lovely neighborhood, great location

The house is beautiful and close to anything you want to do in the Greensboro area. The basement apartment is nicely furnished but not well insulated in the second bedroom. Normal activity from folks upstairs is quite loud in the basement.

master bedroom nice, second bedroom subpar

I arrived at night and it was very dark so I had trouble finding the basement apartment entrance. The living room and kitchen are very nice. It is a pet friendly unit and there was a large brown stain on the carpet. The rest of apartment was clean. The second bedroom ceiling is not finishe with tiles like the rest of the apartment and has large main plumbing pipe for the house exposed. When people are talking up stairs apartment you can hear everything and when they flush the toilet it is very loud in the second bedroom but in the main bedroom you can not hear as much. The neighborhood is nice and safe but I would only stay here again if i only needed one bedroom, not two

Clean, well stocked, and quiet

We stayed here to go to the Blue Ridge Rock Festival. It was only an hour from the venue and was in a good neighborhood. Most importantly it was clean, safe, and quiet. And the beds were super comfy! Stu and Maddie were amazing to work with and you can tell they take pride in this property. I can’t get over how beautifully decorated it was. Even though our plans didn’t pan out we had a place to come back to and be cozy. Thank you both so much for being the best part of our weekend!

Long Weekend at Mary's Gatehouse

Had a wonderful stay during our soccer tournament. Clean and comfortable. Great location. Loved the private patio. Stu and Maddie were very responsive to our questions and gave great recommendations for for food and local sites. Would definitely recommend this place to others.

Comfortable, safe and relaxing

My stay was awesome. We in North Carolina for our daughter's college orientation at North Carolina A &T, stayed a couple of days. Upon arrival we were greeted by Linda and Stu who owned the property and also the host. Very welcoming and accommodating. The apartment was beautiful, clean and comfortably. Linda even let me extend my stay by an hour. You have everything you need. We plan on booking again in August and October. Thank you Linda and Stu for an awesome stay

Wonderful two bedroom apartment!

This fabulous apartment was in a beautiful neighborhood in Greensboro. The property was perfect for our visit to the city. We appreciated the short drive to so many things, especially the Coliseum, and that there were restaurants within walking distance, too. The apartment was clean, beautifully decorated, and well stocked, with plenty of linens, dishes, and many special extras. The owners left us a fabulous list of local restaurant recommendations and everyone we tried was absolutely delicious! Thanks for the wonderful trip to Greensboro! We will definitely be back to this apartment if we are back in town!

Great Weekend Stay!

Came in for a soccer tournament in Greensboro and this was the perfect place for us! Perfect amount of room for a family of four, tons of places to eat nearby, and our hosts Stu and Linda were awesome! If we come back to the Greensboro we will be back for sure!

Perfect for our needs!

The apartment is very cute and clean with everything needed for a comfortable stay. Close to lots of restaurants and, our favorite, Doggos Park and Pub, which had great indoor and outdoor areas for the dogs to run and play! We met Linda, and she was very friendly and informative without being intrusive at all. Our needs for a late check out were accommodated, which was so wonderful!

Mary's Gatehouse is amazing

Mary's Gatehouse is a gem!!! Linda put out all the stops with having the cute dog bowls and doggie bed for our puppy. There was so much space in both bedrooms that we could move around and not step on each other's toes. I loved the fantastic artwork throughout the apartment. Mary's Gatehouse felt comfy and cozy, as if it were home away from home. If we return to North Carolina, we will stay there again. Until next time.

A great place to stay!

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay here in Greensboro! It is located in a beautiful neighborhood and yet still close to everything we needed to get to (just 5-6 min from UNCG campus which was a plus for us). The path to the stairway to get to the unit was well lit and inviting. There is an adorable patio that is private and perfect for eating outdoors. We walked in and the home was clean, spacious, and well decorated (we love seeing all the artwork)! The bed was comfortable and the environment was quiet and relaxing for sleeping. A perfect weekend away! We will be back for sure! Looking forward to our next trip to Greensboro already 😃
