Great location but an older unit. There is a fenced yard but it needs TLC. It is white sand, which would be great except it is partially overgrown with those very prickly sand stickers. I was constantly pulling them out of my pup’s paws.

The house is nicely decorated and clean with all the amenities we could ask for. There is a wide variety of books to enjoy. We brought along our golden retriever so the fenced in back yard was nice. It is also well lit at night under the house if you need to take the dog out. The beach across the street is very dog friendly. It is also away from the crowds, so you have room on the beach and the neighborhood is quiet. Checking in and out was extremely easy. Received a message before the trip with all the information. Overall, it was a nice relaxing experience. Look forward to booking again!

We absolutely enjoyed our stay at the "Lucky Dog" beach house. The house was clean and fresh smelling. We took our fur babies with us and they enjoyed it as well. The fenced back yard was definitely a plus. The location of the house relative to the beach access was very close. Even with the house being one row back from the beach, we were able to enjoy time on the deck with a view of the water and all the beach sounds. The neighbors were very friendly. The beds were comfortable. The linens were soft and smelled clean. The only negative I have to mention was that there were a lot of bulbs out, over the vanity in the master bath as well as in the dining/kitchen areas. We would stay here again.

Check-in was easy and all access codes/passwords were visible and straightforward. The house was clean and was pretty comfortable. Our dogs settled in well and were accommodated as advertised. Overall, we enjoyed our stay and the area. The only problem I did find was that the pictures on the listing that showed the view from the deck are no longer accurate as new houses have been built and there isn’t a very good view anymore so updated pictures would be great for future guests.

My family and I loved every minute of our stay at the Lucky Dog. Each family member had plenty of space. The Porches and downstairs outside areas were great to have. And especially the fenced in yard for the dogs was perfect. We enjoyed the beach every day and spent the evenings either eating out or eating at the house and saving money. The house was perfect for my family of 6 (4 children are all between 19-22) and two dogs. They felt welcome and happy and we were thankful they could come with us. The bedrooms were the perfect size and I was pleasantly surprised by the master bathroom and space! The house has everything you need! The location is great and we loved that it was a bit less populated than gulf shores but we could drive out there if we wanted to. We walked to the beach near us every day - so convenient. We hope to come back and we definitely highly recommend Lucky Dog. Especially if you have dogs - but even if you don't you will love it! Lisa was prompt answering questions I had about restaurants nearby or other random things. She was gracious and helpful and I appreciated that so much. We would most certainly return! Thank you!

We had a great time. This property is perfect if you have Fur babies. The fenced yard is within the front door so you do not have to leash your dog to let them out. Great outdoor space. We sat on the balcony in the mornings and watched the water and at night we sat in the screened porch. Our dogs had a great time with so much freedom to roam in and outside. The inside is open and easy to keep everyone involved in conversation or games. Bathrooms are a great size as well as closet space. The beds are comfortable with plenty of extra pillows and blankets. The kitchen is well equipped with cookware and utinsels. The ice maker works in the fridge so you do not have to use bought ice for drinks. Dishwasher is great. We used the extra large capacity washer and dryer for towels and clothes so we didn't have so much laundry to complete when we arrived home. Lisa was helpful and responded quickly when I had questions. We had our groceries and supplies delivered, using the walmart app, to the house Saturday evening. This was a major plus because we got to spend our evening in the beach when we arrived.I say enough good things about this place. It is not directly on the beach but you can see the water and the walk is short and easy, even when carrying all your beach supplies. We will definitely look to stay here again.

Lucky vacation

Quiet, peaceful, away from gaudy souvenir shops and fast food joints. Perfectly suited for going to the beach for a walk, without the hassle of carrying a lot of gear. Fenced yard for the dogs, safe....can't get out. Covered porch side by side with open air porch. Stocked kitchen - we did not go out. The dogs loved it, too.

We were all lucky.

We had a wonderful time at Lucky Dog. The location was great - although it was not on the beach, we could easily see the ocean from the two decks. When the sun was hot, it was nice to have the screened-in porch to cool off. Our dog felt welcomed with all the toys, beds and bowls available to him. The beach allowed well-behaved dogs to enjoy themselves. Lisa, the owner, was quickly accessible to us and promptly had VRBO correct the location on the website. The kitchen was well stocked. We will be back!

My dogs loved their stay.

My partner, dogs, and I loved Lucky Dog. The fenced in area under the house offered a secure place for our dogs to play as well as a nice area for us the sit and enjoy. Morning coffee on the balcony enjoying the partial gulf views was the highlight. Other than a couple houses across the street are being worked on, the area is peaceful. We are looking forward to booking again in the future.

First time visit

Rental property is older but is clean and in a nice location. The deck and screened porch were wonderful and we spent most of our time there when weather allowed and our dogs loved this space while we were there. There is a somewhat fenced in area in the back yard that worked well with our 34 pound dogs but a larger dog might have the wherewithal to exit the area. The lighting could have been better for night time since some of the motion lights were not working well or staying on very long.If you are interested in a quiet low key vacation Ft Morgan is perfect. If you have older children or like activities besides the beach it is at least 18 miles to Gulf Shores area. The negatives are that the two sliding doors were in poor condition and were very difficult to open and close and did not slide on the track easily. The photos of the rental beach views are misleading as there is new construction across the street with huge houses that block the view in the photos online, however across the street from Luck Dog the house is a smaller home which allows gulf views on either side between the houses. If we would return to this area we would consider Lucky Dog as a rental choice.

Wonderful home and yard

We spent 3 nights at this lovely dog friendly home just steps from the beach. The large fenced in yard was so nice for our pup! The home was very nice and the bed comfortable. The deck has views of both the gulf and the bay! We only wish we could have stayed longer! Very well equipped for both of us as well as our dog!

Perfect Place for a Lucky Dog!

Lisa and The Lucky Dog are both absolutely phenomenal! She was so kind and helpful and the beach house was better than we could ever imagine! We celebrated our dog Apollo’s 10th birthday at it and he had the time of his life! He didn’t want to leave and neither did we!! It was the best weekend for this family whose world revolves around our 4 leg child! We will definitely be back and staying here again asap!!

Another great beach trip

This was our second stop at Lucky Dog, and we’ll likely be back. It’s a great place with our dog, the beach is steps away, and the view from the deck for morning coffee is spectacular. Our host Lisa has always been responsive and helpful. Bring your blanket and surf fishing gear and settle in.

Perfectly Pet Friendly

We traveled with our pets and found this property was truly pet friendly and even more comfortable than we'd imagined based on the web site. The owner was very pleasant and easy to contact when questions came up. About half of the area on ground level under the house was fenced and joined the fenced back yard which was thankfully free from sandspurs and very convenient for our dogs. From dog toys, pet beds and spare leashes to interesting books, board games and kitchen supplies, the owner had thought of what we and our pets might need to make our stay even more enjoyable. The screened porch upstairs was accessible from the main bedroom and was just what we needed if mosquitos showed up as the sun set. We found the property to be clean, comfortable,and nicely decorated although in need of a little TLC here and there. The kitchen was roomy and well stocked. This a good, cozy, light-filled home away from home. We enjoyed the layout and location with easy beach access just across the narrow street and look forward to a return trip.
