A stay where Gulf views meet the warmth and ease of a thoughtfully designed home. Fernhill By The Sea is a Gulf-front favorite, offering space for up to 13 guests across 4 bedrooms and 3.5 bathrooms, perfect for families or groups seeking shared moments by the water.

Wake up to the sound of waves and enjoy direct access to the sand via your own private boardwalk. Whether you're savoring coffee on the balcony, grilling fresh catch on the charcoal grill, or gathering around the dining table after a day of shelling and sun, every moment here feels like part of something worth remembering.

Inside, the main level is designed for easy living. The primary king suite to the left features a double vanity and walk-in shower, ideal for refreshing after the beach. A half bath and laundry area add to the convenience. The open living area offers comfortable sofas, a TV, and panoramic Gulf views that draw you out onto the balcony for al fresco dining or sunset watching.

The kitchen is fully stocked for everything from pancake breakfasts to seafood dinners, equipped with a standard coffee maker, Keurig, toaster, blender, and more. Downstairs, the grill area invites laid-back cookouts after a day exploring the coast.

Upstairs, you'll find a mix of sleeping options that work well for different guest groups. On one side, a bunk room with two twin-over-twin beds and another room with a double bed, twin-over-twin bunk, and trundle. These rooms share a nearby bathroom. On the other side, a second king bedroom includes a private bathroom and its own balcony, ideal for those wanting a quiet spot to unwind with a view.

Fernhill was our best experience in over 10 years of coming to the gulf. The house had everything we needed and more. Obviously the views were incredible, but the little extras made it special. The beach equipment, brand new boardwalk with hose and comfortable deck furniture all contributed. We hope to find our way back soon.

Everything was great and the only issues we had were in the guest bedroom upstairs with the queen and bunk beds in room . The tv would cut on and off randomly while sleeping and also master bedroom door would stick at the bottom of door was completely shut . But overall everything was great and location was perfect

My family absolutely loved this house. The location was great. The house was clean and had lots of room. If we go back to Gulf Shores next year we will be staying at this house. This house gets a 10 out of 10 from us.

Fernhill was acceptable.

My stay at Fernhill was nice, though not as described in the descriptions. For the price my family paid we would expect to have toilet paper, paper towels, decent quality bedding, and towels or for them to actually be clean. Though the beds were comfortable, the location is beautiful, quite unpopulated, and the furnishing throughout the home perfectly sets the beachside atmosphere many look for. Sadly there was many things not previously mentioned like weight limits on beds which made it difficult for some people as it was only 175 LBS. Other than that the only major warning/complaint is their decks and patios. They are a major safety hazard to anyone due to any slight moisture. Thankfully their management company was very communicative throughout our entire stay.

Hands down, Beat place I’ve stayed in Gulf Shores!

The house was perfectly located. So close to everything and yet far enough out that it was literally a private beach. The house itself looked nothing like the pictures online, It was even better!!! The boardwalk is a must if you’re gonna have lots of trips out to the beach. Check in and check out was simply a touch of a button on my phone. Great AC, Great supply of everything you’d need. Plenty of towels for everyone. The rocking chairs on the front porch were nice to sit in as well. The pass is just a couple houses down and the kids did lots of fishing there as well. It was money well spent and we had an excellent vacation!!!

Great stay

Great location.Had a few issues including smoke alarms that kept beeping. Vacasa did come out and check them . The ice maker wasn’t working as mentioned in a previous review. We had to buy ice a lot to compensate for it. The lights were out in the upstairs bathroom. Who wants to be on the phone with management all the time.

Third Year Staying Here

We love the location. The beach is mostly quiet except when they work on it which can get annoying. The house seems to have everything we need, nicely stocked kitchen. The second bathroom upstairs needs a grab handle in the shower and the towel bar replaced. The walkway to the beach made it possible for us to get to the water with family who have balance challenges. We noticed the little changes from last year. We will be back.

Location and View

This property is well set out, has excellent views, and is well equipped. Access to the beach is made easy by the boardwalk and the deck off the main floor is spacious and has ample seating. There is plenty of off-street parking and it's only a short drive to multiple restaurants and bars. We were disappointed by a couple of things. The cleaning company had done a lousy job. One toilet was stuffed with baggage tags from the previous renter so it had obviously never been cleaned. There were several towels on the deck and below the house lying on the ground, and a lot of the silverware and plates were put away still dirty. We washed everything and we didn't use the dirty bathroom. There was a camera on the upstairs deck which we had been looking forward to using a lot and because we didn't know who was watching or listening, we never used this deck. That was disappointing as the view from there is incredible. If you are interested in renting this house, don't let the negative part of this review stop you. This truly is a nice place and even with the misfortune we experienced, I would still recommend it to others. We enjoyed our time there.

Perfect location!

Great place for a large group. Truly the perfect location on the beach. Only issue we had was the small or dog urine on the rug and the dog hair. I was aware ahead of time that they allowed dogs, but I didn’t think there would be evidence of dogs when we checked in. Vacasa us very difficult to communicate with.

We had bulldozers on the beach in front of the house and a two foot long black pipe all week. They were pumping sludge from the lagoon and draining it onto the beach. This made the water black and it stunk. Next time instead of paying $XXXX plus, I’ll sit on my own deck and take the top off of my septic tank if I want to look at black water and smell sewage ❗❗

Great place - horrible property manager & cleanliness!

By no means is this a reflection on the house / property itself. Great location and place to accommodate a family of 7. The cleanliness was atrocious. Dog poop all over the backyard, sand toys scattered across the back yard, filthy kitchen sink, glasses and counters. One set of linens in a bed unusable due to the amount of sand IN the bed. Broken tile left out around the tub in the master bathroom along with a sandy soaking wet bath mat. When I reached out to VACASA the property manager I was told to take pitchers and send them in for review. I was asking for a refund on the cleaning fee due to having to go out and purchase cleaning supplies and spend the first 2.5 hrs in the house cleaning it up. After going back and forth with VACASA it was deemed not worthy of a refund. When reaching out to VRBO they stated there was nothing they could do as well. Both entities, pun intended here, literally stuck their heads in the sand on this. Will do everything within my power in the future to not give VACASA business. Again the house was great and would recommend it in a heartbeat.

Getaway before the holidays

The home was beautiful, spacious and exactly what was advertised. It was large enough for us to spread out but intimate enough for meals and games around the table. The private walkway 40 steps to the beach and ocean view from the master suite was amazing.
