Designed and built by UrbanLab Architects, Owlwood is a unique multi-wing home where every element has been executed to perfection. Set against a panoramic backdrop of peaceful forest views in the middle of Harbor Country, the showstopper at this stunning house is the modern architectural design that allows pure natural light to be enjoyed from nearly every room. Oversized sliding doors and windows throughout beautifully showcase the surrounding landscape, and every corner of the residence has been expertly styled with a richly refined flair to provide a getaway experience like no other.

SOCIAL WING
A gorgeous kitchen stocked with a deluxe housewares package anchors one end of the main social space with custom terrazzo counters, top-of-the-line appliances, and a massive island with bar seating. In the middle, the dining area makes a statement with a farmhouse table that seats 10 and 360° views of the space. On the far end of the room, a comfy seating area with leather sofas is ideal for great conversation or watching the Smart TV. Custom lighting designed by UrbanLab, radiant heat concrete floors, and a sleek gas fireplace lend both visual and tactile warmth to the room, while sliding doors all along this room open to the center courtyard, allowing easy access to the pool, fire pit, and hot tub.

Head out the glass door off the seating area to access the oversized screened porch. There’s a 10-person table for casual dining, a seating area, and a second gas fireplace to keep the ambiance warm during cooler evenings.

BEDROOM WINGS
Two angular wings comprise the sleeping quarters, where the home’s 4 ensuite bedrooms are set up for maximum privacy. Each bedroom is a masterpiece of design simplicity while at the same time rich with lavish features. Sliding doors from every room overlook the courtyard, and each bedroom has a gorgeous ensuite bathroom—3 with walk-in showers and 1 with a bathtub. Three bedrooms have queen beds, and the fourth has a fantastic built-in triple bunk with Twin XL mattresses that kids (and adults) love! Each bunk bed is outfitted with a light, privacy curtains, and an outlet to charge phones and tech. With attention to detail at the forefront of every design element, the beautiful forest image imprinted on the sheer panels and drapes in the bedrooms is a photo taken in Harbert Woods.

At the end of these wings is a very quiet den with 3 large glass openings to maximize sunlight and connection to the exterior landscape. The room has a plush sofa, TV, and café table—a great space to get away from the group to study, work remotely, or even play games.

Need to wash clothes during your stay? There is a full laundry room with a separate washer & dryer and a laundry sink that connects these two wings.

OUTDOOR LIVING
Outdoors is filled with amenities, too. There’s an 8-person hot tub, pool, fire pit, outdoor shower, BBQ grill, and Tesla charger, not to mention the expansive green lawn that is perfect for yard games.

When it’s time for a day on the water, a short 10-minute walk will take you to the public access beach. Pet-friendly, 4-zone HVAC for maximum comfort, beach gear for excursions to the lake, a fab foyer drop zone, and Apple TV add to the long list of thoughtful on-property extras.

Owlwood is conveniently located a 10-minute walk from both Harbert village center and Cherry Beach and just a short distance away from acclaimed restaurants, wineries, breweries, vintage boutiques, and antique shops. It’s also just 70 miles from downtown Chicago.

Located along the scenic shores of Lake Michigan, Harbert is a quaint and peaceful village that offers visitors a delightful mix of natural beauty, local charm, and cultural attractions. Harbert Beach is a hidden gem, offering a serene and less crowded alternative to the busier beaches nearby. Enjoy a peaceful day soaking up the sun, swimming in the clear waters, or taking in the stunning sunsets that Lake Michigan is famous for.

Harbert boasts a variety of charming eateries and gourmet food shops. Enjoy fresh, locally sourced meals at the Harbert Swedish Bakery and Café, known for its delicious pastries and hearty breakfasts. For a more upscale dining experience, try the renowned Café Gulistan, which offers a unique menu featuring Kurdish and Mediterranean cuisine.

Southwest Michigan is known for its wine country, and Harbert is no exception. Take a tour of nearby wineries like St. Julian Winery and Tabor Hill Winery, where you can sample a variety of local wines. OTHER THINGS TO NOTE
To ensure a safe and compliant stay, all guests are required to complete identity verification prior to check-in. A valid government-issued photo ID will be collected and verified, and the name on the ID must match the credit card used for payment. When applicable, a background screening may also be required as part of the booking process.

All guests are required to review and sign Juniper Holiday + Home's Guest Occupancy Agreement prior to check-in. While we understand that events can affect your trip, it is our policy to stick to the agreed-upon cancellation policy in the listing. We recommend purchasing vacation travel insurance if you suspect you may need to cancel your reservation.

The minimum age to rent this home is 25.

A non-refundable Accidental Damage Waiver is included with your reservation. This waiver covers accidental damage or loss to the rental property caused by you or members of your party up to a maximum of $2,000. This plan does not cover intentional acts, gross negligence, or willful misconduct.

The pool is seasonal and will be open from Memorial Day Weekend - Labor Day. Specific Open and closure dates are scheduled by the local pool vendor.

We welcome up to 5 dogs at this home at no additional charge. Please include the number of pets you plan to bring or let our team know after booking. 

Out of respect for our staff and their families, we do not permit check-ins or outs on Thanksgiving Day and Christmas Day. Thank you for your understanding.
