Our cozy cabin in Harpers Ferry was recently remodeled so it's the perfect combination between rustic and comfort for up to 8 people. The property is located at the top of the hill in a remote and quiet location, so you will have a unique experience. Our cabin has 3 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms, and a sleeper couch in the living room where the Smart TV is located. The house has an open concept so it's perfect for enjoying with family or friends.

The house is only 21 minutes from the New Snow Riders Tubing!

Property was clean and comfortable. We were looking forward to using the hot tub, but it was only half full and 90 degrees. The owner gave us permission to fill it with the hose, but it didn’t get up to temperature enough for us to use it. Overall, we (8 adults) all felt safe, comfortable and relaxed while on the property. It was close enough to cool locations (brewery, coffee shop, bakeries, etc), that we were able to explore while we weren’t visiting family. We especially enjoyed the balcony with the gas fire pit! Very cozy!

In general it was fine. The property is VERY close to other places and a road. The furniture is different than the photo which is fine it just isn't that. The one couch is comfy but the other is not. The beds aren't comfortable at all. We tried a different one the second night we stayed and it wasnt any better than the first. So many spiders! I know it's in the woods but the are seriously everywhere inside. We counted 44 inside and that's just what we could see in the main living space, one bathroom and first bedroom. That could have something to do with the huge gap under the front door. Hair in the shower from the people who stayed before us I'm guessing. Dirty kitchen utensils, pans and cups that needed washed before use. Arcade game doesn't work. It turns on but doesn't actually do anything. The floor was dirty like it also wasn't cleaned after the last people were there, same with the one table In the living room. The grass hadn't been cut in a long time and was so high. The deck and patio were very dirty and the furniture on the deck is filthy, again I realize it's outside but it could have been cleaned off before someone stayed. We cleaned up trash from the driveway/parking area when we arrived.

Cabin in the woods

Overall, my friends and I did enjoy our stay at this property. The appliances all worked, AC was great, no issues with any utilities or anything like that and the hosts were super communicative which we greatly appreciated. That being said, there were a few things about this property that other reviewers had mentioned that were a little difficult.Firstly, the bugs. I knew that this was a cabin next to dense woods in West Virginia, so bugs were certainly to be exprected. However, the grass/lawn had not been kept up for weeks from what we could tell so the bugs were abundant. There is about an inch tall crack in the front door frame that we could see bugs coming in from, so we shoved a towel in all the door frames to prevent more from entering. I would suggest the hosts add some kind of seal to the front door specifically and I think that would help greatly with the bug problem!When we first went down to check out the hot tub, we opened the covers to a filthy tub. When I asked the host about this issue, we were instructed on how to clean the hottub ourselves. It was a little frustrating to have to do this ourselves as guests and not have a clean amenity ready to use, as this was one of the major reasons we chose to book this vrbo. It took about a full day for the hot tub to even get up to temperature, so we could only use it for one day.Overall, I think if more upkeep was performed for the external parts of the property, this would be a 4-5 star stay.

I had to clean their hot tub for them

For the cost per night of this stay, I expected everything pictured in the listing photos as well as the description of the amenities. To start, upon arrival we were unable to access the VRBO because the code had been changed “earlier that morning”. We had to call the host & they had to give us a separate code to unlock a lockbox with the house key. This stay was for my bachelorette weekend & while my girls set up decorations in the house they said “why don’t you have a drink & chill in the hot tub?” So I said sounds great! So I lifted the lid off of the hot tub to find a THICK grey clay-like substance covering the sides of the tub as well as the ENTIRE bottom of the inflatable topper inside. Disgusting. Plus, the hottub looked as though it hadn’t been used or cared for at all prior to our arrival. I tried to turn on the jets but there were no instructions left about operating the hottub. I texted the host & they sent me instructions & I asked them about cleaning supplies for the hot to to where they said I can use the 3-in-1 cleaning solution that was locked under the deck, & they gave me a code. I spent the next 2 HRS of the beginning of my stay wiping away the gooey grey gunk off the cover & sides & skimming the nasty residue out of the foam. Ontop of that,in pics they picture the firepit with the chairs surrounding it looking inviting. But, they were stacked in 2’s upside down on the ground & covered in dirt & webs.There was also no household cleaner in the house.

Nice quiet place. Nice new deck. Good location. Helpful owners. The only downside was the hot tub water was not clean on arrival. Did not use. Recommend to owner to instruct renters to add cleaning solution upon arrival if that’s what is required for it to be usable. Otherwise, a nice place to stay.

Great stay!

It was a great stay. No complaints! Great communication with the hosts before and during our stay. Very clean and just like the photos. The only comments not entirely positive (but worth noting because it was one of my deciding factors in booking this property) is that the hot tub was not clean enough for us to be comfortable using (it is in the woods and may have been pollen coming through the screens—but it was covered) and I think one of the queen sized mattresses does need to be replaced in the first bedroom as one of the couples with us had to sleep in the double bed (granted, mattresses are purely an individual preference so may not be a real problem for others!). The outdoor deck with table and chairs and fire pit was fabulous and where we spent our evenings having drinks and playing games. Thank you!!!

My family and I stayed for 3 nights and enjoyed it very much. The views are great. The house was cute and clean. The only little things that were not working properly were the front bathroom toilet is not set right so it rocks and the fireplace in the living area wouldn’t turn on. Not deal breakers by any means. We would stay again

Clean, spacious, but the house had a horrible smell and was full of bugs.

The house itself was clean and had plenty of room for our family. I loves all the trees and the deck! We wish someone had at least gone through and wiped down all the furniture out the deck... we dont expect it to be perfect, but it was pretty dirty. The check in process very easy. When walking into the house an overpowering odor hits you... if it didn't look so clean, I wouldn't have been able to stay. We kept the windows open during the day to air it out and that seemed to help. Another inconvenience were all the bugs in the house, BUT we were in the woods, so we figured that was to be expected. We also came to realize when packing up to leave and check out, that the master bedroom had water on the floor near the wall where the bathroom is. Our cheif complaint was the smell, that needs to be remedied, otherwise the other things were minor inconveniences. The house was clean and well decorated and we enjoyed it.

Perfect Birthday Getaway

The stay was perfect for me and my best friend to just get away. We did local breweries throughout the weekend. The kitchen had the essentials for making breakfasts. Even tho only heat was wall units, the place did warm up quickly. It was just a nice quick getaway to enjoy company and good times.

Beautiful home

The home was beautiful and immaculate. Everything as pictured. Easy to book. Heating left a little to be desired. Heat consists of wall mounted heaters and an electric fireplace. Took a while to get the home heated. Deck was very cozy with a propane heater. Enjoyed sitting there in the evening. Price was fair. We did try to contact the host to inquire about entering the property early since we arrived in town earlier than expected. We never received a reply. Overall, very pleased with the home. I would stay again.
