Beautifully Appointed Evian twnhouse

One of the nicest Evian properties. Golf course view. Walking distance to the beach. This villa has been remodeled. Would Definitely rent this villa again.

Evian Vill

The unit was very nice. In retrospect I don’t think I’d stay in a dog friendly unit again as we could smell an “animal” scent. The unit needs better pillows and was decor was quite dark We do love the Evian area though

Nice getaway

The best part of the condo is the location. Being right on the golf course was really neat. My husband and I played several rounds of golf and the course was beautiful! The condo itself was much bigger than expected, several nice amenities, the washer and dryer was great! Shower in master bedroom is wonderful! We also loved the wooden shutters on the windows inside! I highly recommend this property!!

Great location; family and pet friendly. need a new cleaning company...

Family of four 1/2 - this was our second year in HH,SC. The description and photos are 100% accurate. Things we loved: location was great - close to beach, shopping areas, restaurants; gated community; pool was a great size; great for morning family bike rides on the property. We brought our cappuccino maker but the rental also had all of the relevant kitchen and other electronic items in good working condition. Wifi also worked well for all of our devices. Communication with management company was excellent - had one small issue when we arrived with the parking pass, but it was resolved expeditiously. The one common theme across reviews that i noticed was the comments about the cleanliness. I highly recommend that the management company hire a different cleaning company. The surface cleaning was fine but after we settled in, we started noticing that places, like under the furniture, wasn't cleaned properly. Otherwise, would stay again and would recommend.

Clean and fine

Not the greatest first impression. Decor is 90's era. But bathrooms and kitchen have been updated. All the basics are good. We needed pet-friendly in Evian, so this sufficed. Ice maker and water-dispenser on fridge did not work, but easy to work around. Comfortable bed. Fridge worked well.

Comfortable needs a little TLC

Great location, unit conditions were ok, not great. Couch cushions a little tired in spots. Dishwasher pulled out when door opened, need to secure. We Enjoyed the master shower, but it could use a new shower head. The cleaning crew needs to clean the mold on the grout and the vent.

The Worst Experience

We have been traveling to HHI for over 15 years and this was by far the worst experience we have ever had. The first day at check in our car tags were not even called in to the security guard at Shipyard. I had to make a phone call to the vacation rental property and the security officer as well. Finally after 30 minutes of waiting we were able to get to our villa. Once there we unloaded the car quickly because we had reservations for dinner with friends. When we got back that evening I started my normal cleaning because I am that person who brings clorox wips and lysol everywhere to spray everything especially now during Covid. I started looking around, the place was DISGUSTING!! The counters in the kitchen did not look they they had been cleaned the trash can reeked of funk! The counter tops by the stove had food still on them and was stuck in between the stove and counter top. Under the kitchen table I found dried up spaghetti noodles!! The place had not been vacuumed or swept whichever the cleaning people choose to do. The stairs had dirt still on them going up. When the place says it sleeps 6 people it definitely should. There were NO SHEETS for the pull out couch upstairs. Our son had to sleep on the couch down stairs. The bathroom showers upstairs had not been cleaned it still had hair on the shower wall!! DISGUSTING!!!! I emailed the vacation rental at booking@islandrentalshhi.com and sent them a very strongly worded and detailed email listing everything this was on Saturday evening the night of checkin. That next day I went out and bought a pair of sheets for the upstairs pull out couch. I waited and waited for someone to reach out to me and NO ONE DID!! I had to call them Tuesday first thing!!! Absolutely despicable!! I told the property manager I spoke to that I had sent the email with no response not even a phone call and that I had bought sheets for the pull out upstairs. The property manager sent out a cleaning lady later that afternoon and she did a poor job. I stayed with her at the house hoping she would clean everything that I had spoken about but she did not. She halfway cleaned the bathrooms and counters and NEVER EVEN SWEPT OR VACCUMED! I spent the afternoon after she left cleaning instead of relaxing with my family. THIS WAS THE WORST EXPERIENCE EVER!! The property manager told me he would reimburse me for the sheets and he NEVER DID!!! The washer and Dryer are also terrible! DO NOT STAY HERE!

Wonderful stay

This was our first time staying in Shipyard & we absolutely love the location and the fact that it has beach access. This unit is on the end of Evian that is closest to the beach access, which is very convenient. The unit itself is nice. The furnishings could use some updating and possibly just do away with some of the chachkies. I loved that the unit is pet friendly and on the golf course. I never worried about taking our dog out that we may be met with an alligator, which we did see behind a few units closer to bodies of water. The floor was still a bit dirty when we arrived, so we used the vacuum that was left all week to get the sand off of the floor. We did have to call to get a new bike and the rental company was on it. We had 4 new bikes by noon that day. Our teenagers were able to ride their bikes to the beach and Coligny when they wanted because the location is wonderful. My husband and I got up each morning & went to Carolina Coffee & Crumbs and we could walk, ride our bikes, or drive. Loved the location. This is the busiest I’ve ever seen the island, so all in all, our trip was amazing once again. Our condo was great. The rental company did a good job.

First time

This was our first time in Hilton Head and I will say it was absolutely wonderful! The villa is nicely located to all amenities and the beach was not a very far walk. The villa was beautiful inside and big enough for a baby and dog! The only downside is there are no carpets so it is very loud if you have loud talkers! Overall our experience was amazing and we will most likely make this place a yearly vacation!

Very clean and it was well stocked with everything you need for your stay. It was right on the golf course but plan on more than a 3 min walk to the beach, it took 15 min to walk and 5 min to ride the bike.

Townhouse was fine but the pots and pans were worst that we have encountered in stays in Evian and Fl. They are Teflon coated that are so chipped that I was not comfortable cooking on them.. My husband left water in one overnight and the next morning the water was Rusty!!!

Cigarette smoke smell, dirty but mostly upgraded with a nice location

I should’ve read past the first year of reviews, but is soon as you walk in there is an old cigarette smell like it’s been smoked in for years. The couch had cigarette burns on it and it’s really old and when we came in there was a lot of dog hair in the downstairs and upstairs. My son walked barefoot as soon as we got there and his feet were black so it was not mopped. I went to use the vacuum but it was already stuffed full of dog hair and I didn’t wanna mess with that and the broom had tons of dog hair caked all over it so using the cleaning supplies they had were not sufficient so we purchased our own. Also there was a dark brown liquid all over the 2nd bedroom wall and doors. The unit is in a great location and the master bathroom was updated and most of the kitchen. I think if they just replace the couch and other furniture the smell would probably go away. Also doing a better job cleaning after the previous guests. Overall the unit is nice and In a good location.
