The perfect vacation for the smaller family starts with finding the perfect accommodations. Consider it done when you book this 3 bedroom, 3 bath private home, located in Shipyard less than a mile from the beach with a private pool!  Enjoy the privacy of a home rather than a hotel room.  Charming features throughout make you feel like you are in your own secluded beach home.  Even the family dog is welcome! The living room features a sofa, and loveseat in an ocean blue, along with a flat screen TV in the armoire.  A sliding glass door opens to the large screened in porch overlooking the private pool area and even a BBQ grill. With plenty of seating, everyone can gather on the screened porch for happy hour or a cup of coffee to start your day.  There is a table for 4 and a chair with ottoman and even a rocker!

The bright and cheery kitchen is fully equipped with full size appliances and there is plenty of space for help in the kitchen or just someone to hang out with the chef.   The dining table includes seating for 6, and there is room for 3 more at the kitchen table and 2 at the kitchen counter.  The primary bedroom on the first level features a king bed, TV with BluRay DVD player and private bath with a separate shower and separate sunken tub. The second bedroom on this level features 2 twin beds, with a private bathroom offering a tub/shower combo. Upstairs you will find the laundry area with full size washer and dryer.  The third and final bedroom is also upstairs and features a king bed, TV with private bathroom with a separate tub and shower.  Outside, the private pool is yours to enjoy, so swim, sunbathe and play all day long!  Enjoy being close to the beach, 3 nine-hole golf courses and the convenience of being close to everything! 

Shipyard is centrally located on beautiful Hilton Head Island and provides easy access to over 200 restaurants, unique shopping, grocery stores and world-class golf.  The community borders 12 miles of white sandy beach and offers bike paths, lagoons, golf courses, tennis courts, and an abundance of natural beauty.

Please indicate how many car passes you will need. Car passes are $35 plus tax for the stay. 3 Car Passes Max.

A non-refundable fee of $225.00 per pet plus tax is required if you are bringing a pet. Max is 2 dogs; 75 pounds per dog.

The house was as listed. It is a bit dated. All of the bathsinks are extremely low, the refrigerator ice maker was randomly spitting out ice and was slow at making ice, the AC was cold in some areas and warm in others, and the pool was not circulating properly. The pool should be looked at because several circulation lines seemed like nothing was coming out of them. Also, you should consider cleaning your gutters!

Advantages - Nice size pool Great screened in porch Great privacy Bathrooms for all bedrooms is a great perk Bedrooms are nicely spaced out - great for sleep despite loud kids Closed kitchen with pocket door - great for noise and odor control Disadvantages - No pool towels despite there being a pool Most rentals offer a morning's worth of coffee, sugar- there was none of that here... No salt, pepper either. It would have been great for owners to provide a kitchen sponge, a cutting board, a pot holder for oven dishes. Cleaning was difficult because there is no dustpan despite there being a broom, the Dishwasher barely cleans even the lightest load. Stovetop emits smoke and burning smell. Dirty carpeting everywhere, but there's no vacuum. The decoration is very outdated. No path map provided to beach by owner. You’ll need google satellite to figure it out. If you take the wrong path, you'll need a gate code, good luck! There are lots of bike paths but owner didn't provide map of trails. Parking near beach is pretty hard.

Good floor plan. Good location. Lots of books and games provided. Dirt and mildew on porch rails and pool chairs. Nothing to clean the carpet with, just a ratty old broom; I bought a dustpan. Front porch steps in bad condition. Appliances work OK, but need updating. Need cleaner bathroom rugs. Need instructions for washer and TV.

Getaway

This was a very last minute getaway - our first trip since covid- so we were very excited to have found this quaint little house that was also pet friendly. It was a great location, walkable to the beach and a quick trip to any restaurant you could ever need. My dog was excited to have a fun walking path right outside the door. Just a few things could be upgraded, as it’s an older home, like the master bedroom mattress and you could tell it was pet friendly for sure. But it was perfect for what we needed and would easily come here again!

Great visit

We enjoyed our stay in Shipyard. The house had all the amenities we needed. Loved having pool and screened in patio with our infant. Also, dog friendly is a plus. Good sidewalks in neighborhood, about 10-15 min walk to beach. Privacy in backyard with tree line. Nice that they came to clean pool and blow leaves twice during our stay.

Family reunion

We had a wonderful visit with family who had travelled from all over the country to Hilton Head. They all stayed in smaller accommodations so when we gathered as a group the house was wonderful for us to visit while still maintaining our social distancing. The fact that we were able to bring our pups along for the visit made it look the more special.
