Ustaoset is a small town in Hol municipality in Buskerud county. It is located on the shores of Ustevann, about 10 kilometers southwest of Geilo. Ustaoset is a popular tourist destination, both summer and winter.

In the winter, Ustaoset is a popular ski and snowboard destination. Here you will find Geilo Ski Resort, Slaatta Ski Resort, and Ustaoset Alpinsenter. You can also go skiing or snowboarding in Hallingskarvet National Park, or take a ride on a horse-drawn sleigh.

In the summer, there are many opportunities for outdoor activities in Ustaoset. Here you can go hiking in Hallingskarvet National Park, bike the Rallarvegen, swim in Ustedalsfjorden, or visit Geilojordet, a cozy farmyard with farm animals and old houses.



About Geilo

Geilo is one of Norway's most well-known winter destinations, but there are also plenty of activities for the whole family in the summer. No matter what time of year, you and your family will have the opportunity to experience the beautiful mountains and nature. You will find a wide range of activities; alpine skiing, cross-country skiing, summit hikes, dog sledding to name a few. Access

Geilo and Ustaoset are easily accessible both from Bergen and Oslo, follow Highway 7. Good driving conditions all year round. It is also possible to use the train with stop at Ustaoset station.
