Location, Location, Location. Experience this exceptional 2025 custom-rebuilt waterfront estate home on Topsail Beach (Southern End of Topsail Island). This part of Topsail Island is known as âSerenity Pointâ AKA âThe Pointâ. Serenity Point offers 150 conservation-zoned, undeveloped acres with 1.6 miles of pristine, undeveloped shoreline on the white sandy beaches of the Atlantic Ocean. This magnificent home has the ideal location, both on the ocean AND the intercoastal waterway. Your backyard is the coveted spot of the head of the last canal on the island and is second row on the ocean front. The property sits on a quiet oceanfront road adjacent to the last public accesses on the island. This means that your front yard is steps to the undisputed best beach area on Topsail Island, and your backyard includes a private boat dock on the Intracoastal Waterway (ICW) where you can fish, swim, Kayak, paddleboard, or just enjoy the amazing sunsets, privacy, and views.
There are very few homes in this small town that are within walking distance of the beach, and there is very little public parking, which further contributes to the uncrowded beach.
If you bring your own boat, you can dock it at your private backyard dock to enjoy fishing, waterskiing, boating to waterfront dining, or hop over to some of the deserted small barrier islands where you can look for sand dollars and seashells. Local marina with boat launch is less than 2 miles from home (note that the electric boat lift is customized for our personal boat and is not available for guests' use). But you don't need a boat to enjoy this location! The best swimming is right in your backyard. Swimming in the Intracoastal is even more fun than the ocean. There is little to no current in the canals off the ICW, and you can bring floating rafts of chairs and just enjoy the quiet, calm waters in your backyard, floating and swimming all day.
As for the home itself, this is definitely not your typical beach house. This home features a total of 16 glass double to triple sliders on the 2, 3 and 4th floors for breathtaking views of the ocean and the intercoastal waterway. The upper 2 floors feature glass deck railings for unobstructed viewing (which is not typically found in a rental property). The 6 expansive decks provide plenty of outdoor living space and include over 40 high-quality resin deck furnishings (including high-top chairs, tables, rockers, gliders, and benches) so your family can both spread out and gather (without having to drag chairs from deck to deck). The home has a large private fenced-in yard, a gas grilling station, and generous parking for 6 large cars and your boat trailer (should you decide to bring a boat).
Quality custom construction and furnishing is evident in every detail. The home was specifically built for multi-generational enjoyment. The home includes 5 king master bedrooms with ensuite bathrooms and 2 âbunk roomsâ with custom-built bunks and premium mattresses suitable for children (but made for the comfort of adults). The large 950 lb capacity elevator services all 4 floors of the home (and is the largest available in a residential elevator).
There is a large eat-in kitchen with professional appliances, including a massive (double-wide) built-in refrigerator/freezer, 2 dishwashers, induction/convection cooking, two large farm sinks, plenty of counter space, and a built-in pantry. The kitchen is well-equipped, features a 15-piece "All-Clad 5d" professional cookware set, and is well stocked with high-quality kitchen gadgets and tools that will delight those who love to spend time in the kitchen. Each of the 7 bedrooms features a glass slider door to decks and/or balconies. There are two living rooms with leather reclining sofas (not counting the 4th floor penthouse bedroom with adjoining private office) and chairs, 2nd and 4th floor wet bars, a first floor game room with Tornado Cyclone II foosball, air hockey, Pac Man, and gaming TV, and several wall and yard games to keep the family entertained for hours. The second-floor oceanfront deck features a 6-person hot tub. Two bedrooms feature âofficeâ area/work stations with auto rising desks, dual large monitors, Jabra speaker, and office/desk chair (because sometimes we just have to check in with work or attend a meeting despite being on vacation). The two main living areas feature 85-inch smart TVs, and the home is equipped with high-speed Wi-Fi and a commercial router. All bedrooms in the home feature smart TVs as well. If you are looking for privacy, quiet enjoyment of nature, and sunshine, this home is for you.
The fourth floor of the home is what we refer to as "The Penthouse". The Penthouse features a private ocean-to-canal space with an enormous master suite, a large attached office with a desk, and a leather reclining sofa. The sofa also has built in heated massage feature. The area has a Peloton exercise bike that guests are free to use as well as a massage chair, electric massager, telescope, Keurig, and mini fridge. Because this space has many fragile items, the Penthouse floor is not suitable for children, and we respectfully ask our guests to please keep the Penthouse area off limits for guests under 18. (Sometimes it is not a bad thing for grown-ups to have a quiet place to escape to).
We purchased the property from the original owners, who selected one of the most coveted locations on the island to build their home back in the 1980s. Even by today's standards, the original home was exceptionally large, especially as a beach home. It was originally set up as two over-under apartments. We always intended to renovate it into one home, but unfortunately, when we began to renovate, we found that the project turned into a total rebuild rather than a remodel. We had some limitations due to the original footprint of the home, but after this nearly two-year reconstruction project (which we call a labor of love), the result has all been worth it. About the only thing left of the original home is a picnic table that sits in the front yard by the parking area.
When it comes to the location, having vacationed on Topsail Island ourselves since the early 1980s, our family was always split between loving the ocean but also loving all the activities that came with being on the Intracoastal Waterway. When we were looking for a perfect home, we wanted to find a spot that everyone in our entire 4 generations of family would love to gather. We also wanted to get away from it all to a location that remains quiet and peaceful even in the peak of summer seasons. This home's location, we felt, was the most uniquely perfect location on the East Coast of the United States. The location is truly an escape. There are no crowds on the beach, and in fact, you can walk the beach all the way from the oceanfront side, around the uninhabited âSerenity Pointâ, passing the ocean inlet, and then up the back side of the intercoastal back to the home. Serenity Point is a 150-acre protected wildlife preserve with 1.6 miles of uninhabited shoreline.
The town of Topsail Beach itself is very underdeveloped. Most of the homes at the south end of the island do not rent. They are owner-occupied, and most are not full-time residents. There are no large public parking lots to draw crowds of day trippers to the beach. It is probably the closest you will get to Mayberry by the beach!
Just a short 2 miles from the home is the small town of Topsail Beach. Topsail Beach has a couple of nice restaurants and food trucks, a fantastic fresh fish market, a tiny, tiny grocery store, a couple of nice, well-equipped small parks for kids, a marina to launch boats, and some activities like basketball and pickleball courts. There is also local putt-putt, roller skating, an escape room, and several wonderful homemade ice cream shops.
Free early check-in for Sunday-to-Sunday rentals. Departure cleaning and high-quality towels and linens are included with your rental. Rather than pay the $5,000 security deposit, you will see an administrative fee of $115, which is your security deposit waiver. With this, you are covered for up to $5,000 in accidental damage. Note that damage from theft, neglect, misuse, or abuse is not covered under accidental damage, and you will be responsible for uncovered damage. You do not need to purchase additional damage protection beyond what is included under that administrative fee. Please do report damage immediately so that we can have repair or replacement done as soon as possible for our next guest.
You can request a concierge service to make all your beds in the home for an additional $15 per bed. This must be booked and paid in advance. Please specify if the beds you would like made up for you. This fee is simply a pass-through and goes directly to our amazing cleaning team (as do the linens and cleaning fees)
Absolutely no smoking or vaping is allowed on the property. This includes in the home, on the decks, in the yard, or any part of this property.
The home has two exterior security cameras, one on the front door (a Ring doorbell camera) and one on the back door. The back door security camera is on a switch that guests can turn off during their stay. There are absolutely no cameras inside the home, on the decks or the outdoor shower area.
