Sleeping six guests, the three-bedroom, dog-friendly hideaway nestles on the fringes of a farm near Whitstone, 9 miles from Bude and 7 miles from Widemouth Bay. With an enclosed garden and a games room, it makes a superb getaway for a family or couples keen to be within striking distance of the coast.

Remove sandy shoes and dry dog paws in the porch before wandering into the barn to make the most of your quality time together. Enjoy the bright, airy accommodation, with its views out across your scenic surroundings and indulge in the generous space offered by this rural retreat. Find yourselves in the capacious kitchen/diner, where you can unpack your provisions, rustle up a treat and sit down to delicious meals together. Head into the adjoining lounge, which has a vaulted ceiling, to pull the garden doors open so everyone can amble out into the sunshine. Find a good film on the Smart TV then settle down to a movie night together. A king-size bedroom, with a lovely en-suite bathroom, is also at this level. Climb the stairs to the floor above to find a second king-size and a twin, each with an en-suite shower room. The twin bedroom can also be arranged as a super-king-size by prior arrangement. Spill out into the lawned garden to light the BBQ, dine in the fresh air and play fetch with your pet. The games room, set in a shed, is accessed from the garden.

Spend days on the beach at Summerleaze, 10 miles away, where you can swim in the sea or the tidal pool. Pick up the South West Coast Path at Widemouth Bay and follow it for 3.5 miles to Bude. Crackington Haven is a stunning sandy beach just 11 miles away, while the charming seaside villages of Boscastle and Tintagel are within a 16-mile drive. You can also head 12 miles north to the Hartland Heritage Coast for stunning coastal walks.
