Very welcoming. Safe and secure on a high (29) floor. Had to buy most basic cooking needs (salt, pepper, oil, etc) but stores are nearby. Needed help with resetting the AC and the digital door lock is quirky. Nice Weber grills available. The bidet was great. Recommend for a couple.

Great instructions from the start of visit to the end. This unit was true to the pictures. Incredible views. Used the Lani to eat breakfast/coffee and catch some rainbows. The staff at Sunset was always very nice. Older place but very clean.I would recommend if you liked to walk to the beach/restaurants!

Great view! Pefect location.

We stayed for 10 days. We enjoyed the condo to the fullest with a full kitchen, coffee maker, ice maker. We used the BBQ on the 6th floor. I will be staying here for my next trip to Oahu. Oh and you get a parking space. You can walk to Duke's and moneypod. The beach is two blocks. Till next time! Araceli B

Wonderful condo

We loved our time here and really appreciated that it is on the East end of Waikiki near the beautiful Kapiolani Park with Diamond Head in the background. The view is nice. It was clean, private and quiet (except for the street noise when the lanai door was open). The laundry area was clean and I never had to wait to use the machines. It's a great place to launch from while visiting Honolulu. The only reason I didn't give it 5 stars is that the AC is regulated by door sensors and the one on the lanai sliding door kept getting activated and turning OFF the AC in the middle of the night even though we were not moving the door.

The condo was in a very convenient location to everything in Waikiki. 5 minute walk to the beach and the Honolulu Zoo. And that VIEW! Easy check in.

Great location and property.

We enjoyed our stay in this condo. Unfortunately we fell sick on arrival and had to spend the first 4 days of our trip inside. As a result, our only complaint is with the living room sofa, it’s not large enough to lay down on comfortably, and the pull out is not very comfortable. But this would not have been an issue if we had not fallen ill as we would have been outside exploring most of the time.

Good location

This building is in a good location, and the unit is relatively well-maintained. It's a little older and some things don't work quite right (none of the locks on the interior doors worked, the towel bar in the bathroom broke the first day and no one was available to fix it, the a/c sensor kept saying the door was open when it wasn't, etc.) The unit is clean, though. The "starter" amount of supplies is pretty minimal, so expect to be buying your own toilet paper and other essentials within a few days of arrival. The bed in the bedroom is comfortable, but our kids complained that the sofa bed was uncomfortable. The reservation system for the pool rendered it useless to us (it was too hard to schedule exactly when we'd want to use the pool in advance when on vacation). We travel to Hawaii yearly to visit family and have stayed in multiple condos; I would say our experience at this unit was just average.

Business trip to paradise

We were in town for business, but decided to get a Airbnb instead of a hotel due to covid. Everything was great. The check in process was super easy. The unit access was easy. I didn’t like how strict they were with pool and gym access. Made it virtually impossible to get to the gym to burn off all the yummy food I had there! Everything about the apartment was nice, I’d just suggest the ownership to please change the carpet.... it’s really old and heavily trafficked. I didn’t feel comfortable walking around bare foot inside the apartment.

Bumpy start but they fixed it

We arrived to the property after a long travel day. We found that the AC wasn't working and contacted the property manager right away. After much back and forth communicating with him, they offered us a refund if we wanted to look for another place or 50% off if we stayed with a broken AC. Either option wasn't ideal since we just arrived and had no place to stay. I requested they find us a place for the night since we just arrived and had no other option. The property manager was apologetic and he was able to find us a room for the night. Fortunately they were able to get the AC unit fixed the next day and we decided to keep our reservation for the week. We didn't want to deal with finding a new property at the last minute and not knowing what we would find. It was a bumpy start to our vacation but I'm glad they were able to fix the issue. Overall, the property is what I expected from the listing. Needs improvement: The sofa bed is a sofa bed - springy and old. The beach chairs were worn and ripped in places. Shower head broke during our stay. Older building and elevators were sketchy - they were undergoing construction/improvements during the time of our stay. However, the unit, bedroom and bathroom were clean. They provided ample towels for our stay. It had a nice ocean view and views of Diamond Head, close walking distance to the beach, shops, restaurants. The free parking is an added bonus. It's a good property perfect for a small family. The property managers were quick to respond to our questions/issues and were gracious and tried to fix whatever came up.

We had a great stay this location. The condo was very clean. The elevator was fast, contrary to another review you could hardly hear it In the room. Parking was great and James was easy to get ahold of when checking in even though we flew in late. Location was excellent for restaurants near by and a quick walk to the beach. Would suggest this rental.

Very pleasant experience. Our property manager met us after we checked in and had time to unwind instead of rushing us immediately after the flight and condo arrival. He explained all the amenities in the condo and building. Very easy to contact him when needed. Definitely will use Captain Cook again.
