This is the best VRBO I have stayed at! Me and a group of 6 did a new years snowboarding trip out there and it could not have been more smooth. A huge reason for that was Jan (our host) they gave tons of recommendations for the area, and always answered our questions no matter how small within a few hours. It was also spotless, had a fully stocked kitchen, a great amount of space, and one heck of a view ! We will most certainly be returning for another snowboarding trip or even in the summer to take on some hiking!

The stay was amazing. Cannot say enough about the host Jan. She let us know when the northern lights might be visible on the first night and you can see the result. The kitchen was a dream for a rental, and it was probably the most full stocked rental. Agree with others the sunroom/library is probably the most used room. Everything was absolutely AMAZING!

The Eagle River lighthouse is in a class by itself regarding elegance, comfort, and a sense of history. Every amenity has been thoughtfully provided. If you're wondering whether it's really worth the money, I will simply say that I think the price I paid was an excellent value for the destination.

What a phenomenal place to stay! The lighthouse has been totally updated with a very cool design vibe and comfortable porches all around with views and plenty of fresh air. The proximity to great food and drink (Fitzgerald’s—highly recommended); things to do and see in the beautiful UP; golf; antiquing; beach walking; Jampot; card games; books in the rental—we loved it and will return, hoping next summer!

Very relaxing stay. Fun to here foghorn go off every 2 minutes when the Lake Superior was covered with fog. Then the sun comes out and shines on the lake making diamonds on the water. Sunsets were beautiful. The house had everything we needed to have a great time. The flowers in the gardens were so pretty. Seeing majestic eagles flying over every morning.

Unequivocally perfect stay!!

An absolute dream come true for me and my family to stay in an actual lighthouse. The amenities were all top notch and the property manager couldn't have been more accommodating and kind. There were fresh cut flowers in each room and bread, coffee, and maple syrup from local shops left on the table for us when we arrived. The view was amazing to watch freighters go by in the sunroom and it was such a great location to use as a home base to explore the Keweenaw. The copper mines, beaches, museums, lighthouses and waterfalls we visited were all no more than 30 minutes away. We even saw an eagle up close on the river that runs next to the lighthouse. I was looking forward to this vacation for so long and I couldn't have imagined it to be any better or more perfect than it was. Thank you for allowing us to be temporary stewards of this beautiful piece of history and good luck on the current project. I can't wait to see it when it's finished!

Stunning experience

The lighthouse surpassed all expectations - gorgeous property, excellent location, attentive host. The layout afforded so many views, lounge areas and space to stretch out. Absolutely Amazing

The Eagle River Lighthouse is a lovely, comfortable home that is perfect for a relaxing stay on the Keneewaw Peninsula. The property manager, Jan, was very helpful and pleasant. It is beautifully renovated and stocked with everything that you could need to enjoy your stay. We were treated with a loaf of delicious bread, maple syrup, and local coffee. The lighthouse has great views of Lake Superior and is close to several sites like Copper Harbor. There are many eagles nesting nearby and yooperlites to be found. It is walking distance to Fitzgerald’s, a surprisingly good local restaurant. We highly recommend visiting the Eagle River Lighthouse.

Beautiful historic lighthouse!

Overall, we were blown away by the entire trip. Jan the property manager was amazing to work with - she responded quickly and was very detailed in her instructions and recommendations for local spots. We brought our snowmobiles and this location is very close to trail 151, plus there was plenty of space for our jeep, trailer, and snowmobile parking.The interior design is beautiful and the front sun room with views of Lake Superior is my favorite part. Absolutely recommend this place to anyone who loves the beauty and history of northern Michigan. We hope to be back!

Luxury, quiet, beauty, and comfort!

We both were frazzled from life and after a 14 hour trip to Eagle River, it was pure heaven! The house was immaculate. It is spacious and very tastefully and minimally decorated to reflect the area and history. The kitchen had everything! Our favorite room was the “library,” with an absolutely stunning view of the lake, sunsets, and town. We opened both French doors and had the most delicious west-east breeze all day and night.(I even slept there 2nights!) The drives to Eagle Harbor and Copper Harbor were easy and scenic, with numerous places to pull off to explore and take pictures. Never once turned on the TV. The books were fantastic The bed was super-comfortable. I even spotted 2 large Yooperlites about 3-4 feet out in the surf one night, but due to my unsteady footing, could not reach them. The only suggestion I would have (and this coming from one with unsteady walking) is to have non-slip strips on the edges of the steps leading down into the lower rooms. The painted steps can be slippery in sock feet. We will be sharing our stay with friends and highly recommending this place to others. Thank you for the experience!
