While the host was responsive and the house was generally clean, our stay was marked by several serious issues. Although the home is attractive and in a nice neighborhood, it is clearly in need of better maintenance. Some furniture requires repair or replacement, and the exterior shows signs of neglect.The most significant problem occurred upon arrival: there was no heat and no hot water. The gas meter had been locked due to a tornado that occurred in the neighborhood weeks earlier. Arriving after travel to a home without basic utilities was extremely stressful and unacceptable.The storm damage had not been properly cleaned up. The yard contained debris, there was broken glass on the patio, branches in the pool. These conditions made it feel like the property was not ready for guests.We were without heat or hot water for nearly 20 hours until the gas company restored service the following day. While an apology was offered, we had to purchase space heaters ourselves, and no reimbursement or compensation was provided for the inconvenience.We also paid 50 per day to heat the pool and spa, but this did not meet expectations. We were told there was a two-hour limit, had to repeatedly request the heat to be turn on, and the pool never became truly warm. The spa took a very long time to heat as well. For the price charged, these amenities should have been consistently ready without repeated requests. The lack of preparation made this stay far more frustrating than relaxing.
