Property is in a very good location. The condo had AC which was nice and had all the utensils/kitchenware we needed. Great to have beach chairs and the cooler. My only suggestion would be to replace the carpet eventually as that can hold on to the musty smells and maybe replace the curtains with vinyl blinds. We really don’t enjoyed our stay here in unit F206z

Our host was very accommodating. We booked into Pono Kai through RCI expecting a 1 bed condo. We ended up in a hotel style room with a mini kitchen. Candace was able to accommodate us within a day of arrival to move to their full sized unit making our time there more enjoyable.

Unit needs a good cleaning? Drapes come off of rod when opening. Stove pans need to be replaced.wall in bath room cracking. We did enjoy our stay. The view was beautiful. I would probably stay in-unit again.

The Pono Kai is always nostalgic because my grandma used to have a condo here. This rental unit was clean and had a great view. Easy access to the pool and parking lot. It had lots of fans which was good since the bedroom didn’t have AC though the living room did so it was nice and cool. They had beach chairs and laundry soap. Plenty of nice towels- bathroom and beach towels that were new-feeling and fluffy. Also, it had pumps with soap for the kitchen and bathroom- nice touch. My only complaint was that it only came with half a roll of paper towels and no extra, and only one extra toilet paper which wasn’t enough for our stay so we had to buy more of each. An extra roll of paper towels and a couple more toilet papers would have been appreciated. You can at times hear the people walking above but I’ve stayed at many different units at the Pono Kai and that is always the case. The blinds in the bedroom and screen in the living room need repair but that wasn’t any big deal in impacting our stay. Overall, I would definitely stay at this unit again and definitely recommend it.

Amazing view

We loved our stay at Pono Kai... the unit was so comfortable with a gorgeous view. We sat daily and enjoyed our macadamia nut coffee (thanks ABC store!) and kids ate cereal on lanai. The unit had great a/c unit in living room and the fans were great in the bedroom. We loved the pool and jacuzzi area and used them often. The laundry on floor 1 was easy to use and coin operated. The grounds are lovely. We really loved watching the chickens in the day and frog spotting at night by the koi pond.The location is great, very close to the center of town. we hit the ABC store many time, enjoyed chocolate tasting in the Lydgate tasting room, and had a wonderful breakfast at the Kountry Kitchen. don't miss these!We love Kauai and will definately return to Pono Kai!Mahalo

Always love to stay at Pono Kai in the Kapa’a area

Our flight arrived very late but, check in was smooth and seamless. The resort is right in the water and beautiful. Everything you could want or need.Host was super accessible although we didn’t really didn’t need at all.Definitely will come again!
